Maisa Silva to Host Nickelodeon's Brasil's 'Meus Prêmios Nick 2018'

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has announced Brazilian singer, TV host and actor Maisa Silva as the host of Meus Prêmios Nick 2018, Nickelodeon's Brasil's 19th annual local version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, which will take place at Citibank Hall in São Paulo on Wednesday 7th November 2018!


Meus Prêmios Nick is Brazil's largest children's and teen awards, and celebrates kids’ favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more! Like previous years, Meus Prêmios Nick 2018 will feature lots of musical performances, irreverence, orange blimps, jokes, social responsibility and, of course, slime!

Silva, 16, first burst onto TV screens when she started hosting the children's TV show Bom Dia & Cia when she was just 6 years old. Following Bom Dia & Cia, Silva became an accomplished actor by playing the role of Valéria Ferreira in the Carrossel franchise, including a telenovela and two movies. She also lent her vocal talents to hit animated movies, such as Masha and the Bear: The Movie, Ferdinand and Smurfs: The Lost Village, and is about to release the movie Tudo Por Um Pop Star.

Maisa has more than 4 million subscribers to its Youtube channel and is about to release the film 'All for a Pop Star'. The first hits on the big screen were 'Carousel - The Movie', 'Carousel 2: The Sumiço de Maria Joaquina', the animation 'Masha and the Bear: The Movie' and as a voice actor, 'BugiGangue no Espaço', 'Smurfs the Lost Village 'and' The Bull Ferdinando '.

Silva has more than 16 million followers on Instagram and 4 million subscribers to her YouTube Channel.

The young star also leads MPN 2018 with the most nominations, being nominated for: Artista de TV Favorito, Canal de YouTube Favorito, Instagram Favorito, and Ship Do Ano.

Sucesso teen em todo o país, a atriz irá comandar a premiação da Nickelodeon deste ano

Com mais de 16 milhões de seguidores no Instagram, a atriz Maisa Silva acaba de ser anunciada pela Nickelodeon como a apresentadora da 19ª edição de ‘Meus Prêmios Nick’, o maior evento da pay-tvinfantil, que vai acontecer no dia 07 de novembro, no Credicard Hall, em São Paulo.

Sucesso entre as crianças e jovens de todo o Brasil, a carreira de Maisa Silva explodiu quando, ainda pequena, virou apresentadora de TV e conquistou a todos com seu jeito único e excêntrico. Iniciou a carreira aos três anos no programa Raul Gil e, logo depois, foi contratada por Silvio Santos para apresentar o programa Sábado Animado, ao vivo. Com um currículo recheado de memes, Maisa estreou como atriz em Carrossel, quando deu vida a personagem Valéria, impulsionando ainda mais sua carreira.

Ela também atuou em Patrulha Salvadora, Chiquititas e, mais recentemente, em Carinha de Anjo. ‘Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Surprise Fans At New York Comic Con 2018 | NYCC

The cast of Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles visited New York Comic Con 2018 last weekend and fans were treated to a sneak peek of an episode featuring TMNT voice legend Rob Paulsen, who reunites with his Pinky and the Brain co-star Maurice LaMarche! In the episode, “The Longest Fight,” Paulsen and LaMarche provid the voices of Foot Lieutenant and the Foot Brute.

Paulsen is the glue the sticks the TMNT TV franchise together having been a talent since the first animated series in 1980s and the 2012 series, and the voice director of the current one.

Rickey also had a chance to interview Brandon Mychal Smith who plays Mikey, Josh Brener who plays Donnie and co-executive producer Andy Suriano at NYCC 2018. Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles voice cast and co-executive producers gave fans at New York Comic Con a look at what’s in store for the Turtles and April O’Neil during a panel at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Moderated by Mike Cecchini (Den of Geek), the panel featured voice actors Omar Miller as Raph, Josh Brener as Donnie, Brandon Mychal Smith as Mikey, and Kat Graham as April O’Neil, along with the co-executive producers Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, and legendary voice director Rob Paulsen. Special guest Maurice LaMarche (Pinky and the Brain) made an appearance to discuss his role as the Foot Brute.

The panel featured a sneak peek at the upcoming episode, “The Longest Fight,” where Paulsen and LaMarche reunited behind the mic as Foot Lieutenant, the de-facto leader of the Foot Clan, and Foot Brute, the Foot Lieutenant’s right hand man. Additional highlights included art and clip reveals from upcoming new episodes of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The series stars the voice talent of Omar Miller (Ballers) as Raph, a jagged-shelled snapping turtle; Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as Leo, a red-eared slider turtle; Josh Brener (Silicon Valley) as Donnie, a soft-shell turtle; Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re The Worst) as Mikey, a box turtle; Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as April O’Neil, a street savvy native New Yorker; Eric Bauza (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Splinter, father figure and sensei to the Turtles; and WWE Superstar John Cena as the villainous, Baron Draxum.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered on Monday, Sept. 17, on Nickelodeon. New season one episodes will continue to air throughout 2018. The new 26-episode series is co-executive produced by Andy Suriano (character designer, Samurai Jack) and Ant Ward (supervising producer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) at Nickelodeon in Burbank. Veteran animation industry voice actor Rob Paulsen is voice directing the series.

Viacom18 Acquires Rights to 'The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That'

Viacom18, the home of Nickelodeon in India, as acquired the rights to the popular animated series The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That from Canadian production company Portfolio Entertainment!


For the first time in series television history, Dr. Seuss’ beloved Cat in the Hat leaps off the page and onto the TV screen in The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! Fueled by curiosity and imagination, the Cat leads best friends Nick and Sally on extraordinary adventures into the natural world. With the help of Thing One and Thing Two and their whimsically versatile Thinga-ma-jigger they’ll go anywhere from the bottom of the ocean to the centre of a beehive. The Cat in the Hat ‘knows a lot’ but he doesn’t know everything, making him the perfect guide to learning and fun.

The series (80 x 30') or (160 x 15') is produced by Collingwood & Co., Portfolio Entertainment, Random House Children's Entertainment, KQED and Corus Entertainment, and airs on PBS Kids in the USA and on Treehouse TV and CBC Kids in Canada.

It's currently unknown whether Viacom18 will air The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That on its kids' channels, Nickelodeon India, Nick Jr. India or Nickelodeon Sonic, or on its SVoD service, VOOT.

Marianne James Talks Nickelodeon's Plans for BLE 2018 and the Year Ahead [Updated]

With Brand Licensing Europe fast approaching, The Source caught up with Marianne James, Vice President (VP), commercial partnerships, consumer products & experiences at Viacom Nickelodeon UK & Ireland to find out Nickelodeon's plans for the remainder of the year, thoughts on the retail landscape, trends, which shows are so important for Nick, and about Nick Jr. retaining its position as the ‘home of preschool’!

Pam Kaufman Says Licensing 'Best Industry in the World' | BLE 2018

Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) 2018 kicked off with the first official keynote session at The Licensing Academy with Pam Kaufman, President, Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP). During the fireside chat with Amanda Cioletti, content director, License Global, Kaufman shared insights into the changing retail landscape and discussed how the newly-formed, globally-aligned Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products positions the organization for success and how consumer products fits into Viacom’s broader strategy. Kaufman said that she was having “the best time ever” in her new role and is positive about the collaboration between Viacom and Nickelodeon. Now that one team is handling the portfolio across the company, she is looking for licensing opportunities within the new and classic library at VNCP and Paramount Pictures for films such as Top Gun, Clueless and more. She is also meeting with teams and assessing markets, with a focus on Asia, Brazil and Mexico.


With a raft of programming for kids and families, Kaufman is looking to Viacom’s properties like South Park and Jersey Shore to expand licensing opportunities. Soul Train, a VNCP property, is approaching its 50th anniversary, and Kaufman is seeking partners to work with for the classic dance show. Paw Patrol, another VNCP property, has become a favorite show with kids and adults alike, which caught Kaufman by surprise.

“Every time I go somewhere, watch something or read a Kardashian post [on social media], there’s always something about Paw Patrol,” says Kaufman. Plans for Paw Patrol include a direct-to-video program for “Mighty Pups” at Walmart in the U.S. When speaking about the classic property Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which received an image overhaul for the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series on Nickelodeon, Kaufman found that keeping a 30-year-old property like TMNT relevant was a relatively easy challenge. “It really is in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' DNA to change it up,” says Kaufman.

One of the new strategies was to premiere Rise of the Turtles across all digital channels, including YouTube. The premiere show received 8.5M global views. Kaufman also shared how working with an influencer like JoJo Siwa helped VNCP get into an overlooked market.

“We saw a retail opportunity for 9-to 14-year-olds,” says Kaufman. “It was an opportunity for the company to go to retail and amplify a space that is underserved.” Next year, Siwa is celebrating her 16th birthday by releasing new music, and recently debuted a new animated series, The JoJo BowBow Show Show featuring her dog BowBow, who is breaking out as a pet influencer. Kaufman showed nothing but enthusiasm for the future of the licensing industry.

“We’re in the best industry right now in the world,” says Kaufman. “The retail landscape changes, but people are never going to stop shopping. We’re looking for a lot of ways to connect to the consumer. And there’s more content being consumed than ever before."

Nickelodeon Signs Sustainable Clothing Licensing Deal with Trashcode | BLE 2018

The merchandising arm of children’s TV brand Nickelodeon has embarked on a first-of-its-kind agreement to create sustainable fashion and accessories as part of its licensing deal!


Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP) has inked a multi-year pan-European, Middle East and Africa deal with Trashcode to create licensed merchandise from sustainable materials!

Trashcode is a new joint venture between apparel and accessories company Cookie Company Group and sustainable textile company Waste2Wear. Waste2wear has produced sustainable fabrics since 2008 using recycled PET bottles.


VNCP is in talks with its retail partners to develop character-based apparel ranges with Trashcode materials. The first pieces to launch under the deal will include SpongeBob SquarePants T-shirts. Prototypes of SpongeBob SquarePants t-shirts made from Trashcode recycled materials will be on display at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) 2018 in London, UK.

Trashcode products are composed of Waste2Wear fabrics made from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles and/or other recycled materials. “We have a long-standing relationship with Cookie Company Group, and when they came to us about Trashcode, we knew we needed to be a launch partner,” says Mark Kingston, Senior Vice President (SVP), International, Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products.


"The T-shirts we created are not only high quality, but they also highlight the number of recycled plastic bottles used to create the garment.

“Viacom Nickelodeon have a history of bringing awareness to pro-social causes, and at VNCP, we want to do our part to help create a more sustainable licensing industry. Brand Licensing Europe is the perfect opportunity to engage with retail partners about this important topic. 2019 is SpongeBob SquarePants’ 20th anniversary, and he is an ideal character to illustrate Trashcode’s mission of high-quality sustainable products in the licensing industry.

"This messaging will accompany all Trashcode products, and we believe it will connect consumers to their choice to buy sustainable."

Sabine Hulsman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Cookie Company Group, explained: “On average, a children’s shirt made with R-PET has given a new life to five to eight discarded plastic bottles, and a jacket can take up to forty plastic bottles out of the environment.”

Annie LeBlanc Signs Talent Deal with Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon, the number-one kids’ network, has signed 13-year old actor and singer Annie LeBlanc to a talent deal! Under the arrangement, Nickelodeon will have the opportunity to work with LeBlanc on a multi-platform basis, in which the actor will starring in linear and digital content for Nickelodeon. Viacom Digital Studios (VDS) made the announcement during its presentation at the new West Coast edition of the NewFronts on Wednesday, October 10.


LeBlanc, whose full name is Julianna Grace "Annie" LeBlanc, is an American singer, social media star, actor, and gymnast who made her YouTube debut at age four, and has amassed an extensive online following, including 6.6 million Instagram followers.

The news follows the successful collaboration with Dance Moms and social media star JoJo Siwa.

Viacom Digital Studios, heading the company's effort to recapture young viewers no longer watching cable by reaching them online and on social platforms, also announced new programming on Snapchat, Twitter and YouTube during its NewFronts West Coast 2018 presentation.

“Viacom Digital Studios is developing hundreds of hours of premium, digital-first programming designed to engage young audiences across the social and mobile platforms they love most,” said Kelly Day, president of Viacom Digital Studios. “We’re continuing to build on our incredible momentum with expanded platform partnerships, talent deals, strategic acquisitions and new original formats to super-serve our fans.”

VDS said it expanded its relationship with Snap and is creating 10 new series, including Clean Slate from MTV, Filthy Living from MTV and De’Arrta and Ken’s Prank Show from BET. Snapchat is also getting 500 episodes of Viacom shows and season 2 of MTV Cribs for Snapchat returns this month.

Twitter users will be getting news programming from Viacom brands. BET Breaks and MTV News: Unfiltered were launched at the beginning of the month. Extra Damn Day from Comedy Central debuted this week and MTV New Presents: Need to Know premieres on Nov. 15.

VDS is creating YouTube Channels for fans of some of Viacom network franchises, including MTV’s Jersey Shore, Comedy Central Stand-Up and MTV’s Wild ‘N Out.

Viacom Digital Studios is also producing several digital series for Nickelodeon, including the recently premiered The JoJo & BowBow Show Show, and the upcoming Minecraft City Champs and Drop That Seat (formally titled Musical Dares).

Viacom says that over its social footprint of 850 million followers, it get almost 2.5 billion views per month and 3.5 billion minutes watched.

To celebrate the upcoming launch of Butterbean’s Café, Nickelodeon's upcoming brand-new animated preschool series about a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running a neighborhood café and magical bakery, Viacom International Studios has unveiled a fantastic video featuring the Butterbean's Cafe theme song, which you can watch here on C21Screenings!


Butterbean’s Café is an animated preschool series about a fairy named Butterbean who runs a neighborhood café and magical bakery. She and her fairy friends serve up the healthiest snacks and sweetest treats in Puddlebrook – a small town of fairies and anthropomorphized animals called Brookies. Butterbean’s special bean magic, the fairies’ magic kitchen tools, and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their café the most awesome eatery in town, one that’s always much busier than greedy and competitive Ms. Marmalady’s across the brook. That’s because Butterbean has a sure-fire recipe for success – a spoonful of leadership, a dash of entrepreneurial spirit and just a sprinkle of fairy magic!

Butterbean’s Cafe features creative cooking, and a social-emotional curriculum that highlights entrepreneurial and leadership skills. The currently confirmed characters in the show are: Butterbean, Keesha, Cricket, Jasper, Ms. Marmalady, Poppy, Miss Honeybook and Reuben. Created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, the creators of Bubble Guppies, the series is produced by Brown Bag Films (Peter Rabbit) in Ireland, and is slated to launch on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels around the world soon.
