Nickelodeon has today announced that English singer, actress and broadcaster Fleur East and The Voice 2020 winner Blessing Annatoria will be performing at this year’s SLIMEFEST event!

Fleur East, who will be headlining SLIMEFEST on Saturday 16th October, first achieved notoriety for a succession of chart topping singles, and  she now continues to make waves across national radio and TV through her role as a broadcaster, hosting on shows such as This Morning and her Hits Radio show, as well as presenting on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and fronting new primetime ITV game show The Void alongside Ashley Banjo.

Blessing, the 18-year-old Zimbabwe-born vocal powerhouse from Dudley and reigning champion of The Voice, will appear across all 3 days of the slime filled event, performing gospel-infused songs from her newly released debut album “Count My Blessings”.

They will be joining number 1 artist John Newman and BAFTA award-winning dance group Diversity, who have been confirmed to perform earlier this year. Newman will be joining the SLIMEFEST mayhem for the very first time, while iconic dance group Diversity, who will be performing across all 6 shows, will be returning for a fifth slime-filled year at The Arena, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They'll be joined by Singer KiD RAiN, who will also be performing across all six shows.

With one of the most distinctive voices in music and a string of number 1 singles, Newman is guaranteed to have ticket holders rocking all night when he performs Monday 18th October and belts out some of his most iconic hits!

SLIMEFEST is presented by Nickelodeon in partnership with VisitBlackpool and will be hosted by Diversity’s Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely, as well as BRAND-NEW hosts, social media stars and singers Max & Harvey, and TikTok sensation Holly H. The six-show extravaganza will kick-off Saturday 16th October with shows at 1pm and 6pm across the days and will end with a blast Monday 18th October. SLIMEFEST marks the return of Nickelodeon's annual music festival for kids, following SLIMEFEST 2020 being postponed due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. It's currently unknown whether Nickelodeon will still be hosting SLIMEFEST in London, as initially planned.

The Pleasure Beach Arena will strictly follow Government and Health Authority guidelines.  A whole range of Covid-19 procedures and protocols have been implemented to ensure the safety of guests, staff and performers.  The wearing of face coverings may be required in designated areas and organisers will update ticket holders closer to the event with any specific procedures relating to Covid-19.  SLIMEFEST will be compliant with any Covid-19 regulations applicable at the time.

If SLIMEFEST 2021 is unable to proceed due to Government or Health Authority guidance, Nickelodeon will transfer your booking to an alternative date or refund your booking.  The terms and conditions relating to this are available at

LONDON & NEW YORK & PHILADELPHIA--August 18, 2021--Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and ViacomCBS Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAC, VIACA) today announced a partnership to launch a new subscription video on demand (SVOD) service in more than 20 European territories encompassing 90 million homes. SkyShowtime will bring together decades of direct-to-consumer experience and the very best entertainment, movies, and original series from the NBCUniversal, Sky and ViacomCBS portfolio of brands, including titles from SHOWTIME, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+ Originals, Sky Studios, Universal Pictures, and Peacock. The service’s vast slate will span all genres and audience categories, including scripted dramas, kids and family, key franchises, premiere movies, local programming, documentaries/factual content, and more.

The new SVOD service is expected to launch in 2022, subject to regulatory approval. It will ultimately be available to consumers in Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

SkyShowtime will be home to 10,000+ hours of entertainment from some of the top creators and most beloved content from around the world. The new service will include first-run, new movies and TV seasons launching every month with a quality library of all-time favorites, classics, and family and kids programming.

ViacomCBS has decided to shut down the standalone version of Paramount Plus in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland — less than a year after launching the streamer in the Nordics — and will merge it with the new SkyShowtime service coming in 2022. A source familiar with the media conglomerates’ strategy told Variety that Comcast and ViacomCBS concluded that teaming up in a JV would be the most “economically viable” way to enter the particular set of European markets, which include the Nordic countries.

A rep for ViacomCBS said that Paramount Plus in the Nordics “is continuing with full investment and, in 2022, it is anticipated that it will be moved into SkyShowtime.” Upon its launch via SkyShowtime, existing Paramount Plus subscribers will be migrated to SkyShowtime; pricing for SkyShowtime in the Nordics will be announced at a later date.

Paramount Plus launched in the Nordics in March 2021, following the expanded/rebranded debut of Paramount Plus in the U.S. (which was converted from CBS All Access). In the Nordic countries, Paramount Plus has been available through Nuuday, Telenor and Allente, as well as other distributors including Apple TV.

It's currently unknow whether Nickelodeon will keep the Nickelodeon-branded Nick+ SVOD service in Portugal following the launch of SkyShowtime in the country.

Nickelodeon Brazil Announces Nominees for MPN 2021

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has announced the nominees of Meus Prêmios Nick 2021, Nickelodeon's Brasil's 22nd annual local version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards!

Meus Pr√™mios Nick is Brazil's largest children's and teen awards, and celebrates kids’ favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more.

Fans across Brazil are now able to vote for their favourites from the worlds of entertainment and social media across 22 voting categories online at and on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags below. Fans can vote as many times as they wish to support their favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more!

Voting will happen in two stages. In stage one, each category has eight nominees. The four nominees with the most votes in each category will then move onto the final stage of voting, which will be announced in the coming weeks. The winners of MPN 2021 will be be announced at a star and slime-filled ceremony later this year. Who will win a  coveted orange blimp award is up to you!

Broadband ISP Plusnet Scraps TV for Existing Customers in the UK

Broadband ISP Plusnet has begun to inform existing customers of their YouView (IPTV) powered Pay TV box that they’ve decided to completely close the service from 1st November 2021. Subscribers will be allowed to keep their set-top-box and can continue to use it to watch Freeview channels or to access their players and apps.

The news follows Plusnet TV, which cost an extra £5 per month to take, announcing at the start of the year that the provider would “no longer be taking orders” for it from 19th January 2021. Shortly after that the provider then began informing existing customers that they would stop renewing the service from 7th February.

Nickelodeon Network channels Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr. and Nick Jr. Too were available on the platform as part of it's Entertainment bundle. To continue to watch the Nickelodeon channels, customers will need to switch to an alternative programming provider, such as Sky, TalkTalk, Now and BT TV. Programming is also available on iTunes. A spokesperson for Plusnet told “As a value provider, we’re all about giving customers simple, reliable broadband with great customer service. We are simplifying our product range and from 1st November we will no longer provide YouView TV as part of our broadband service to existing customers. Customers will still to be able to enjoy great content as part of the BT Sport App.”

Plusnet’s Customer Email:

From 1st November 2021 we have decided to close Plusnet TV and you’ll no longer be charged for your YouView service after your October bill. You’ll be able to keep your YouView set top box and continue to use it to watch Freeview channels and to access your players and apps.

If your box has a record function this will still be available for Freeview channels. Any recordings you have saved from your channel packs and paid for channels will no longer be stored after 1st November 2021.

What do I need to do?

You don’t need to do anything, the changes will happen automatically. Your package price will be updated so that you’ll no longer be charged for your TV service, you’ll see this change on your next bill after 1st October 2021. Your remaining services will continue to be charged as normal, including any discounts you may have.

We hope you’re happy with your Plusnet services, but if this change means you want to end your service, you can do so in the next 30 days without having to pay a fee for leaving early, you’ll need to call us on 0800 013 2632 to let us know.


When the Plusnet TV service closes you’ll still be able access the same great sporting content via the BT Sport App. With the BT Sport App, you can watch great sport wherever you are. You can even cast it to your TV if you’ve got a Google Chromecast or another bit of kit. The App is also available on your tablet, Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV and Samsung TV, meaning you can watch sport on any size screen.

Nostalgic Toy Brand Mego Teams Up With Topps for Avatar Aang Action Figure

Avatar Aang, Batman, Wonder Woman, Marilyn Monroe and Spock are among the cult-favorite toyline's products returning to virtual shelves.

Calling all nostalgic toy collectors: Mego is back in action! The beloved toyline has teamed up with Topps to bring back some of the most beloved pop culture names — think Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Elvis and more — in the form of 8- and 14-inch articulated action figures.

Dropping weekly every Monday, the first round of collectibles landed Aug. 16 on the sports and entertainment brand’s website, starting with DC Comics antihero Black Adam (whose film will land in theaters in 2022). Following a one-week pre-order period, the pop culture prototypes will go into production and fans can expect the delivery within 90 to 100 days. The only catch? If the minimum production quantity isn’t met, the release may be canceled and fans will receive a refund.

The Topps x Mego figures will also include characters from Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, POW! Entertainment, Universal Monsters and other hit franchises and titles as well as legends across Hollywood and sports. Upcoming releases include Farrah Fawcett, Joker, Spock, Aquaman, Muhammad Ali, Chucky, Frankenstein and Willy Wonka, to name a few.

Founded in 1954, Mego Corp. was created by D. David and Madeline Abrams as a line of dime store toys. In 1971, the couple’s then-28-year-old son, Martin “Marty” Abrams, fresh out of business school, began inking licensing deals and propelled the company to success with its line of Micronauts products and more — for a time, anyway. As the story goes, Mego missed out on a chance to partner with Star Wars, which ultimately signed a deal with rival toy maker Kenner. Mego filed for bankruptcy in 1982 and went out of business the following year, prompting superfans to pay top dollar for rare collectibles.

Marty Abrams successfully reclaimed the Mego name in 2009, and in 2018 the reformed company collaborated with Target on an exclusive collection of recreations of its figurines from the 1970s.
