McLaren Construction Appointed To Build Leisure Extension To intu Lakeside That Will Host Nickelodeon’s First UK Shopping Centre Attraction

intu appoints McLaren Construction for intu Lakeside scheme

intu has appointed McLaren Construction to build the 175,000 sq ft leisure extension to intu Lakeside that will host Nickelodeon’s first UK shopping centre attraction.

The £73 million scheme will open in 2018, anchored by a Nickelodeon-themed family entertainment centre and one of Hollywood Bowl’s biggest tenpin bowling venues.

They will be joined by a number of other leisure and catering brands to provide new and compelling experiences at what is already one of the UK’s most popular shopping and leisure destinations.

Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director at intu, said: “We’re investing millions at intu Lakeside to ensure that it can deliver one of the biggest and best shopping and leisure experiences in the country and it’s exciting to see our plans take shape with the appointment of McLaren Construction to build the first phase of the centre’s extension.

“It is going to provide a fantastic new space for leisure brands to flourish at intu Lakeside and create even more compelling reasons for families to enjoy a day out experience with us.”

McLaren Construction will begin construction work this month.

David Murphy, McLaren Construction’s managing director – distribution and mixed use stated: “McLaren are pleased to be working collaboratively with intu on this exciting landmark project. The new brands will add an extra dimension to the shopping experience, creating a destination for families, shoppers and diners with attractions and events for day and evening visitors.”

intu is also continuing work on the 400,000 sq ft extension to intu Watford this year ahead of its autumn 2018 opening and anticipates starting construction work on the redevelopment of intu Broadmarsh.

There's Now an Entire Fashion Line Based on '90s Nickelodeon Shows

If you were a kid in the '90s, chances are you're more than a little familiar with Nickelodeon. Whether you were a fan of watching Tommy Pickles break out of his playpen with his trusty screwdriver or you were just trying to figure out whether Arnold was wearing a skirt the whole time, one brand has your '90s TV obsession covered. Love Tribe has partnered with Nickelodeon to create a new '90s Nick-inspired clothing line, and it's probably identical to the stuff you wore as a little kid.

Exclusively available online at Macy's and in stores across the country as of Aug. 15, Love Tribe's '90s Nickelodeon clothing line pays tribute to shows like Hey Arnold!, Clarissa Explains it All, All That, Rugrats, The Ren and Stimpy Show, and even SpongeBob Squarepants.

"The '90s are trending in a big way at the moment. Jack Griffo To Guest Star On "School Of Rock" Season Three

The Thundermans star Jack Griffo has announced the exciting news on his Instagram Stories that has has been filming a brand-new episode for the third season of Nickelodeon's hit musical comedy series School of Rock!

On his Instagram Story, Jack showed fans the front cover of the script for the School of Rock season three episode he'll be appearing in, which reveals that his character will be named 'Slade', and that the title of the episode is "I Love Rock and Roll: Part I" (#317)! Jack also gave fans a first-look at Slade's outfit - a grey t-shirt with black jeans and a leather jacket - which channels his The Thundermans character Max Thunderman!

Jack follows in the footsteps of his The Thundermans co-star Kira Kosarin, who guest starred in the School of Rock season one episode "A Band with No Name".

In additional news, following The Thundermans wrapping after four seasons, Jack Griffo has joined the cast of Netflix’s multi-camera comedy series Alexa & Katie! Griffo will play Dylan, a smart, cute friend of Lucas (Emery Kelly). Slightly more mature than the average 16-year-old, Dylan sees Alexa’s (Paris Berelc) strengths as well as her insecurities. To Alexa, Dylan is her brother’s annoying friend, but when he becomes her math tutor, Dylan’s teasing makes Alexa see him in a new way.
