Nickelodeon Now Casting for New Musical Series 'Counting Stars'

If you’re ready to become the next big Nickelodeon star, today’s casting announcement is for you! Nickelodeon is casting its new show, Counting Stars, a brand-new series following a group of mega-talented freshmen at the most elite music performance boarding school in the country who compete to perform at the year end talent showcase.


For the show, Nickelodeon is seeking actors aged 12–15 for the series leads. Strong singing and acting skills are required. The ability to dance or play a musical instrument is a plus. Rehearsals will begin in December followed by filming in January 2020 with locations and pay TBD. Apply here!

Although currently unconfirmed, it is thought that Counting Stars is the Simon Fuller/Ryan Tedder-Produced Untitled Project announced during Nickelodeon Upfront 2019. The project announcing during Nick's Upfront revealed that it would be a scripted music series set in a boarding performing arts high school, with original music in every episode. A nationwide search will be conducted to cast the show. Simon Fuller is a legendary, multi-hyphenate creator, producer and manager behind iconic franchises such as the global Idol phenomenon and Spice Girls. Grammy Award-winning Ryan Tedder is the frontman of OneRepublic and writer behind countless hit songs from artists ranging from Beyoncé and Adele, to Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran and Kelly Clarkson, among others.

can authentically portray Latinx. Eva is incredibly energetic, talkative, and righteous. She is beyond thrilled to be at her dream school. She is a perfectionist who is driven to be the very best performer there – until she meets her roommate Taylor, who actually is the best performer there. This just makes Eva work harder at her craft, because nothing is going to get in her way. Must have strong singing and acting skills. All genres and styles of music welcome. J Balvin Unveils 'SpongeBob SquarePants' Grillz Collaboration with Ian Delucca

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved Nickelodeon series.


Fresh from teaming-up with Modernica and Louis De Guzman for a homeware collection, J Balvin has revealed the latest installment of his ongoing SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration! The Colombian reggaeton icon has tapped Los Angeles-based designer Ian Delucca on a set of grillz to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series.

The grillz are crafted of 14-karat yellow gold emblazoned with a pattern developed by artist Louis De Guzman. When worn together, the top and bottom segments come together to form Guzman’s unique take on the playful character. “We developed techniques specifically for this project, this is the first time we’ve seen graphics applied directly to gold teeth, particularly in such an essentially seamless way,” Delucca told HYPEBEAST.

The unique collaboration comes complete with a matching silver toothbrush and a custom RIMOWA hand-luggage case to house the set.

Skinnydip London Launches Limited Edition SpongeBob SquarePants collection

The UK fashion label Skinnydip London has launched its first collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants!


Part of the "Best Year Ever" 20th anniversary celebrations for the character, the company has joined forces with Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP) on the limited edition collection, which brings to life the personalities of some of the show’s most loved characters.

The 21-piece collection includes a selection of printed t-shirts, novelty handbags and everyday accessories including makeup bags, phone cases and more. There are 21 key pieces in the collection, including: A SpongeBob Fur Tote Bag, a SpongeBob Shock Case, SpongeBob T-Shirts, SpongeBob Make Up Bags, a SpongeBob Fur Make Up Bag, and a SpongeBob Key Charm. The Springfield Thunderbirds to Host Nickelodeon Day Featuring SpongeBob SquarePants on Sunday, March 8, 2020

Springfield, Massachusetts: The Springfield Thunderbirds has announced the sponge-tastic news that the professional American Hockey League (AHL), an affiliate of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers, will host a Nickelodeon Day Featuring SpongeBob SquarePants on Sunday, March 8, 2020! The ice hockey match, which will see the Thunderbirds take on the Hartford Wolf Pack, will take place at the MassMutual Center Arena in Springfield, Mass. as part of the Springfield Thunderbirds' 2019-2020 season. Ryan ToysReview Changes Clunky Channel Name, Launches Spanish-Language Hub

The massively popular — though awkwardly-named — Ryan ToysReview YouTube channel has been re-christened.

Eight-year-old Ryan Kaji, who has amassed 22.3 million subscribers on the strength of his toy unboxing videos, has renamed his flagship YouTube channel Ryan’s World — a nod to the entertainment brand that Kaji and his parents have developed alongside studio partner Pocket.watch. Ryan’s World comprises a Nickelodeon TV series called Ryan’s Mystery Playdate as well as a product empire complete with licensed toys, bedding, fast-food children’s meals, and other Ryan-branded items.

“We’re changing the channel name because we don’t just do toy videos. We do science experiments, challenges like ‘The Floor Is Lava’, educational videos like ‘Why Do Floods Happen?’, music videos, skits, and lots more,” Kaji says in an announcement video. “I also want to share all of my [animated] friends from Ryan’s World with you, like Combo Panda, Gus The Gummy Gator, Alpha Lexa, Sheldon, Peck The Penguin, Robo Combo, Dark Titan, and so much more.”

Kaji announced the name change at the same time that he revealed a new Spanish-language channel dubbed Ryan’s World Español. That channel, which features Ryan and his parents up to their usual antics — but with Spanish dubbing — has already amassed 5,000 subscribers.

Cartoon Animator Stephen Silver Gives ‘Fairly Odd’ Advice at Cal State Fullerton

Animated television series like Nickelodeon's The Fairly Oddparents and Walt Disney Television Animation’s Kim Possible and had a profound impact on many childhoods, whose thanks is owed to Stephen Silver, the man who helped with the characters’ design and development for these iconic shows.


While The Fairly Oddparents taught viewers that absolute power does not exist, Kim Possible aired a diverse cast of confident and powerful women.

Silver also worked on other projects including Danny Phantom, The Penguins of Madagascar, The Cleveland Show, Clerks, The Looney Tunes Show, Histeria!, The Replacements, and the Scooby-Doo animated franchise, and also appeared on Nickelodeon's Nicktoons Johnnie Talk series.

Cal State Fullerton’s Women in Animation and Pencil Mileage Club made it possible for students to learn more about his career and express their admiration towards Silver on Friday, October 18, 2019.

Silver commenced the presentation by thanking students for taking the time to attend his character design lecture, saying that he has seen more CSUF graduates in the animation industry than California Institute of the Arts – a private art institute formed by Walt and Roy Disney where renowned artists such as Tim Burton, John Lasseter and Brad Bird studied.


Although the event was promoted as a character design lecture, the presentation gave a lengthy insight into what it took for Silver to work at reputable animation production companies.

Silver conveyed to students the fear he initially had about not being able to make it as an artist, echoing and confronting the worries of many aspiring animators in the room.

Much of that fear was fueled by a lack of understanding of methods of drawing through form, composition and feelings.

Those apprehensions soon faded when he began his career working as a caricature at amusement parks, eventually establishing his own caricature concession company, Silvertoons.

Silver’s life further evolved into a nomadic one after he got hired as a graphic designer for the clothing company “No Fear” in 1996. A year later, he was hired as a character designer at Warner Bros. Television Animation.

Throughout all the life changes, he followed his personal philosophy, which is to always fall forward, something that Women in Animation’s event planner officer, Jiyee Park, admired about him.

“I like the fact that he tried to tell us that you need to have motivation. You need to not be afraid about what you’re doing and just keep on doing it,” said Park. “It’s okay to sometimes have imposter syndrome or anything mental health-related and talk about it.”

Silver emphasized that students should practice their craft by going to figure drawing classes, filling up their sketchbooks and exploring different materials and techniques.

“Draw what you see, not what you know,” Silver said. “Are you in this for play, or are you in this for keeps?”

He also emphasized that in order to make it as an artist, students should not just rely on social media likes, but rather, be willing to put themselves out there socially and professionally.

“That doesn’t mean you got to jump at them with your art and business card,” said Silver as he talked about acting professionally and not aggressive.

Students have to take their chances by venturing out to art-related conventions and seeking professional critiques for their work, Silver said.

He went on to say that students need to be adaptable when navigating the industry, a character trait is essential when portfolios get reviewed by hiring teams. When artists switch companies they need to be versatile with their style.

He found fault in his experience critiquing people’s art at conventions. Recounting a time when he critiqued someone’s work, the person would nod, agree but not look at him as he gave suggestions, a behavior Silver did not tolerate.

Maribel Diaz, an officer from Women in Animation, also agreed with Silver’s stance on social media and social networking.

“Definitely be able to have the idea of networking because that is another thing that unfortunately is not taught as often in the class until you’re out in the real world,” Diaz said. “A lot of the students are not prepared to network. Yes, they may have social media: Instagram, Facebook, but they’re not having the capability to communicate.”

Silver ended his lecture on a positive note, signing multiple sketchbooks, art prints and art books he had published, which were sold at discounted prices at the end of the lecture.

Besides leaving the event with elated moods and signed merchandise, Silver wanted students to leave with newfound confidence and determination.

“Just pursue it, and don’t worry about what other people are going to say or think or do,” Silver said. “Just try it, and don’t worry about failure.”

Os visitantes e hóspedes que estiverem em julho nos Resorts, na Vila Azul do Mar e no Aqua Park vão poder curtir as Férias Nickelodeon no Beach Park com brincadeiras, atividades exclusivas e apresentações, além da presença do próprio Bob Esponja Calça Quadrada, de seu melhor amigo, Patrick, e dos personagens de desenhos consagrados do canal como ‘Dora, A Aventureira’, ‘Patrulha Canina’ e ‘As Tartarugas Ninja’.

Update (28/10) - Storyborder Kevin Molina-Ortiz has unveiled the original ending he had planned for the Rise of the TMNT special "Shadow of Evil"!:



This was the original ending idea I had for the TMNT episode: Shadow of Evil. I had storyboarded it to a Bloodborne song called Omen that really captured the ominous feeling I was going for. I went through and added the soundFX myself, so if the levels are weird I apologize haha.

It goes without saying that I don't own the song, but this is strictly for portfolio review.

‘Dora e a Cidade Perdida’ (DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD) é um live-action dirigido por James Bobin, e traz no elenco Isabela Moner, Eva Longoria, Michael Peña, Jeff Wahlberg e Eugenio Derbez. É uma distribuição do selo Paramount Players, divisão da Paramount Pictures que produz conteúdo destinado a audiências mais jovens em conjunto com outras marcas emblemáticas do Grupo Viacom.

Lançada em 2000 e apresentada na Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. e na CBS, a série original ‘Dora, a Aventureira’ acompanhava as aventuras de uma menina de origem latina, de sete anos de idade, que viaja por um mundo fantasioso com a ajuda de uma mochila falante, um mapa antropomórfico e seu melhor amigo, um pequeno macaco chamado Botas.  

SINOPSE

Unimatic Announces Highly Limited Edition SpongeBob U1-SS Watch

This Unimatic Triple Black SpongeBob Watch Is Limited to Just 50 Pieces


It's SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary, and to celebrate, Nickelodeon has partnered with watch specialist Unimatic to launch a very limited edition SpongeBob SquarePants watch!

The watch face features a triple black color scheme, with an anthracite SpongeBob portrait over a matte dial base and finished with Super-LumiNova® black markers to match the pearl on the black aluminum bezel insert. On the rear, you’ll see a SpongeBob blueprint along with the serial number for each piece. The dial is also glow-in-the-dark. The sponge yellow strap is made with nylon, and a black nato strap is also included.

Limited to just 50 pieces and priced at $721, the watch drops globally at 2 p.m. CET October 28 on Unimatic’s website.

Unimatic watches today unveils a new limited edition watch created in honor of SpongeBob SquarePants on the 20th anniversary of the popular cartoon series with the Unimatic X SpongeBob SqaurePast U1-SS. Emmy Award-winning SpongeBob SquarePants has been one of the most successful cartoon series over the last 20 years, featured on Nickelodeon and originally created by Stephen Hillenburg. Today SpongeBob SquarePants fans who are also watch lovers get one of the first opportunities to have a collector-worthy SpongeBob watch as part of this limited edition of just 50 piece set.

Just under a year ago, SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away. I recall watching SpongeBob SquarePants originally when I was in high school and have continued to follow the program ever since. Even though SpongeBob SquarePants is technically a children’s cartoon, its mature writing, clever themes, and memorable characters have wide appeal even for adults. As a big fan of SpongeBob SquarePants, I am happy to see this entertainment property enter the world of collectible/luxury timepieces.

Italy-based Unimatic took an interesting route when designing the U1-SS by incorporating an “all-black” SpongeBob SquarePants motif on the dial of its core timepiece design. The 40mm case is produced from steel with a tough black DLC coating over it. The watch is water resistant 300 meters (which is probably good enough to have it function perfectly down in Bikini Bottom), and has a sapphire crystal over the dial.

Inside the watch is a Japanese Seiko Instruments caliber NH35A automatic mechanical movement which operates at 3HZ with about two days of power reserve. On the rear of the case is additional SpongeBob SquarePants imagery engraved into the caseback. The black on black theme of the watch is matched with a “SpongeBob SquarePants yellow” nylon strap, which has a good look. Unimatic will also offer a standard black strap with the kit. People know I am very much into black & yellow watches, so the design clearly appeals to me (though given my SpongeBob SquarePants fandom, I am pretty biased).

Unimatic is only producing 50 pieces of this limited-edition Unimatic X SpongeBob SquarePants U1-SS set. If successful, I have a feeling Viacom (the owner of Nickelodeon) will want to consider how it can do more of these. Price for the Unimatic X SpongeBob SquarePants U1-SS watch is 650 Euros.
