The Department

Consumer Products facilitates the development of merchandise for our Nickelodeon brands through UK retail outlets. Consumer Products license all types of products with the key areas being: Toys and Games, Books, Clothing and Accessories, Food and Promotions, Video/DVD and Video Games.

They do not manufacture product ranges internally but work with third party companies,“licensees”, who sell branded product at retail and pay a defined royalty on each item sold. Another key aspect of the Consumer Products business is liaising with all UK retailers from Tesco and Toys R Us to New Look to ensure they support Nickelodeon brands by stocking licensees’ product ranges.

The Job

Primary responsibilities include:

Overseeing the day-to-day management of retail accounts in designated class of trade and carry out strategic direction and business goals set by the Director, International Retail and the UK Vice President. (Accounts include: Argos, Toys R Us, Amazon and other Specialist retailers).

Sell in franchises, strategic product ranges, and retail solutions to assigned account base aimed at maximizing Nickelodeon and Viacom CP revenues

Analyzing weekly sales reports to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and pinpoint opportunities at assigned accounts.

Developing strong relationships with licensee sales reps to ensure regular updates on N&VCP sales [Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products sales] as well as with buyers and senior buyers in all categories at assigned retailers.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in sales, preferably with a promotions or advertising agency, retailer, or entertainment company and ideally with experience of working with Argos, Toys, and/or licensed products.

This role could only be fully maximized by a car owner/driver and extensive UK travel is an essential function of this role, accounting for 20-30% of time.

Strong organisational, analysis and project management skills are key

A considered risk taker and creative thinker

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

This role could only be fully maximised by a car owner/driver and extensive UK travel is an essential function of this role. Travel between accounts may account for 20 – 30% of time.
