New Nickelodeon x Magic: The Gathering Team-Up Set To Be Announced At NYCC

First look at new Universes Beyond offering set for October 10

Nickelodeon and Magic: The Gathering (MTG) look set to be teaming up once again for a new Universes Beyond collaboration as a New York Comic Con panel listing for Nickelodeon x Magic: The Gathering was announced for October 10.

While the details are limited for now, the panel is set for 11 AM on Friday, October 10 in North-Room 409 and will feature three guests: Crystal Fraiser, Eric Englehard, and Stephanie Cheung. The description for the event notes it will be a first look at the next powerful team-up between the two brands:

"Get your exclusive first look at the next powerful team-up between Magic: The Gathering and Nickelodeon. It's going to be [redacted]!"

Judging by the guests appearing at this panel, many MTG players are convinced that the next big crossover between these franchises is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universes Beyond set. Not only that, but fans are convinced that this will be a full set. This is based on the guests who have been named for the panel.

Eric Englehard is a set designer for Magic: The Gathering, not a Secret Lair guy, making it much more likely that this announcement will be talking about a tentpole release. Engelhard has worked on releases such as Murders at Karlov Manor and Outlaws of Thunder Junction. Crystal Frasier is a narrative designer at Wizards of the Coast (WotC), who is also known as a TMNT fan through the franchise's toys and RPG (her Wikipedia page references a Ninja Turtles collection and says her first RPG was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness). Frasier wrote the Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft sourcebook. Stephanie Cheung, meanwhile, is a Wizards of the Coast Art Designer.

The latest Nick x MTG collab will follow the hit Secret Lair x SpongeBob SquarePants collection earlier this year, and the highly-anticipated Magic: The Gathering x Avatar: The Last Airbender set, slated for release on Friday, November 21.

NYCC is a four-day celebration of all things pop culture, comics, film, and more taking place from Thursday, October 9-Sunday, October 12 at the Javits Center in Manhattan, NY. Nickelodeon will be at the convention celebrating 20 years of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Update (10/9): As NYCC 2025 gets underway, a food truck-esque TMNT x MTG vehicle has been spotted, seemingly confirming that the next collaboration will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is currently slated to be released in March 2026.

Tiny Chef Heading to Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025 For Panel, Autographs

Last month, internet sensation Tiny Chef, in an now viral video, revealed that his Nickelodeon series, The Tiny Chef Show, had been cancelled. In the video, we see Chef receive the devastating news, before going to his bed and breaking down and crying, triggering an emotional outpouring from fans worldwide. Subsequent videos have shown Tiny Chef too upset to get out of bed, and eating junk food - a far cry from the healthy food he's known for making.

Whilst Cheffy is still 'unemployed', however, there's some good news on the horizon: Tiny Chef is heading to Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025, where the team behind The Tiny Chef Show will host an autograph session as well as a panel on the making of the show!

The Tiny Chef Scavenger Hunt

Whilst not an official Tiny Chef SDCC event, a fan has taken it upon themselves to spread the cheer with a hand-crocheted version of the sweetest friend ever.

"Since 2011, I’ve been crocheting little characters for strangers to find at SDCC! Find Tiny Chef and he's yours to keep!" they wrote on Reddit.

Fans will get the chance to search for the little guy around the San Diego Convention Center, by following clues posted to social media. They wrote, "I’ll be updating my crochet blog with a final roundup of all the critters and this year's rules and guidelines soon."

Even fans who aren't able to make it into the convention have ways to get involved, including this fan-made scavenger hunt. The fan wrote, "You do NOT need a badge to find one of my little guys! I drop them outside the convention center so that everyone will have a chance to find one!"

There are a few rules to this fan's game, though. They asked that you "send me a photo of them as proof of their adoption" and let them know where the new little friend will be heading. "Each critter is tagged with my contact info and instructions on what to do if you find one," they explained.

They concluded, "I drop these little guys off knowing that there's a potential that people could just swipe them and never get back to me on it, but it doesn't make it any less disheartening when one goes missing. Join the hunt, and help me get my little guys happy homes!"

Fans online thought the idea was adorable. "Oh my goodness, my heart!!" one commented.

Interactive Stunt Gives Fans A Chance To “Claim” Their Own Deed On Paramount Mountain

July 9, 2025 – Paramount+ today announced the launch of a new interactive social experience, “Paramount+ Fan Frontier,” giving fans the chance to claim their very own place on the legendary Paramount Mountain*. As part of the service’s latest “Find Your Mountain on Paramount+” campaign, the stunt will transform Paramount Mountain into an interactive digital landmark allowing fans to engage with Paramount+ IP such as SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, STAR TREK, YELLOWJACKETS, SURVIVOR and 1923 in a fun and unique new way.

Between 12pm to 4pm ET today, Paramount+ invited fans on Facebook and Threads to reply to prompts to showcase their fandoms, including “name your favorite Paramount+ series” and “share your dream vacation spot.” Select participants will then receive custom creative deeds to their own unique plot of land on Paramount Mountain. The personalized plots of land have infinite possibilities, ranging from a beach-front Dutton-style ranch to a luxurious pineapple under a tree in Tuscany. Each deed will feature fans’ social handle and official plot name, a design inspired by their chosen genre and a visual of Paramount Mountain.

“We’re always exploring innovative, hyper-personalized ways to connect fans with the stories and characters they love on Paramount+,” said Domenic DiMeglio, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Data Officer, Paramount Streaming. “This new social activation builds on our legacy of emotionally resonant campaigns—pushing creative boundaries, elevating brand recognition, and setting new expectations through cutting-edge tools and technology.”

The Paramount+ Fan Frontier social campaign, powered by the streaming platform’s creative marketing and social teams, leverages Adobe Firefly’s generative AI technology to build the one-of-a-kind, personalized deeds in real-time. A second iteration of the stunt will take place at Paramount+’s ‘The Lodge’ during San Diego Comic-Con, July 23 – July 27, 2025, bringing a full-scale Fan Frontier Outpost to life with an interactive booth. Fans can participate by answering prompts while in line for The Lodge, and a remote design team will generate a digital deed based on responses. Fans will receive their printed land deed scroll upon exiting The Lodge, and a digital copy will be sent via SMS, allowing participants to share online.

Tiny Chef Confirms Show Has Not Been Saved Amid Rumors of a Return

The stop-motion social media sensation responded to online speculation about its rumored renewal

On Friday, July 4, The Tiny Chef Show took to its official Instagram account to share an update on its cancellation status with its 5.1 million followers.

Along with a photo of the beloved puppet character Tiny Chef, wearing sunglasses and a striped orange-and-white swimsuit in front of a body of water, the post confirmed the former Nickelodeon show has not been renewed.

“Just to clarify!! Chef is still unemployed!!!” read the caption. “Some press is circulating [that the] Chefs Cooking Show is saved. Because of your help we are able to keep Cheffy on socials for the time being but we are still working behind the scenes on saving his cooking show.”

The account noted taking “one step at a time” in getting the series picked up, and added that Chef is open to roles as a movie extra and commercial work, and that the photo is "an old photo" and that "Cheffy is still enjoying some duvet days!".

Fans of Chef flooded the comment section, applauding the team for taking the character out of his tree-stump home for some much-needed rest and relaxation outside.

“You took him on vacay that is good for him ... I was concerned since he was eating tons of pizza,” wrote a fan, referencing a recent video of Chef enjoying piles of pizza from bed.

On June 24, the award-winning children’s series announced that it had been canceled by Nickelodeon after three seasons (season two was split into two seasons, with the latter episodes making up season three).

The show, which featured guest stars including Kristen Bell, Tony Hawk and Alan Cumming, has amassed renewed followership on the internet, as many are learning of The Tiny Chef Show through the cancellation announcement.

In the now-viral video that captured the hearts of kids and adults alike, Chef is cleaning his tree stump home when he receives a call confirming its cancellation via a phone call. 

“Canceled?” he says with a shock. “What do you mean, canceled?”

The phone call in which Chef attempts to make a case for the show – “But we won an Emmy?” – ends with, “I understand, I love you too,” and Chef proceeds to sit on his bed and cry.
