Nick@Nite Set to Expand Into 7 p.m. Timeslot From September 29

Nick@Nite, Nickelodeon's nighttime programming block, is set to expand its broadcast hours this fall, and will start to begin at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) every evening from Monday, September 29.

The move will make Nick@Nite into a 12-hour block, with its broadcast hours now being 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (ET/PT) daily.

Nick@Nite's expansion most likely explains why Nickelodeon recently moved its premieres to the 5:00 p.m. (ET/PT) hour, with Nick@Nite taking their normal 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) timeslots.

While this is the earliest Nick at Nite has ever started on a regular, nightly basis, it's not the earliest ever. In 1985 and 1986, Nickandmore! notes, the block started at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays - first for National Geographic Explorer, then for regular programming. Nick at Nite has also hosted several special daytime events over the years.

Prior to now, Nick at Nite staple Friends has only aired once in the 7:00 p.m. hour on Nickelodeon, on August 26, 2019 as the lead-in to the MTV VMAs.
