Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell Confirm a Good Burger 2 Is in the Works | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell Confirm a Good Burger 2 Is in the Works | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell talk about celebrating the 25th anniversary of Good Burger, confirm that a Good Burger 2 is in the making and reminisce on when they met for the first time.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger … part 2,” Mitchell exclaimed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday March 17, using his character’s signature accent and catchphrase, and it had everyone going wild, including one Jimmy Fallon.

After a round of applause from the shell-shocked audience, Thompson offered an update about the movie’s timeline.

“It’s unbelievable, it’s a blessing,” the Saturday Night Live star gushed. “We’re gonna shoot it this summer and it will be out soon.”

Thompson said the only thing getting in the way of filming are his SNL duties. But once he finishes out the season, it's a go.

“We didn’t [know each other before All That] and it’s funny how we all met,” the Dancing With the Stars alum recalled to Fallon. “I don’t know if they planned this, but they had all the kids come one by one off the elevator in the lobby. I remember I was down there already, and the elevator opened, and this kid came out with Mighty Ducks gear on and he had the roller blades and everything. … I’m like, ‘I gotta hang out with that kid!’”

Mitchell added: “I feel like with me and Kenan, it was just, like, I would say a joke and then he would finish it and it just felt like we gelled really good.”

If they had their druthers, a number of celebs would make cameos. While they didn't name anyone in particular, Thompson and Mitchell revealed they've had their sights set on at least one particular celeb, Fallon himself.

Fallon, of course, accepted the cameo invite, and it's fitting. There had been signs for quite some time that Good Burger 2 was in the works. Back in 2018, Thompson reunited with his All That star on The Tonight Show, throwing it back to the skit the Nickelodeon teen comedy duo performed on the ensemble sketch show, before breaking off to their own series, Kenan & Kel, in 1996.
