Nickelodeon Artist Chris Duncan Passes Away

Artist Chris Duncan, who worked on many Nickelodeon shows, including Rugrats, Dora and Friends, Wallykazam, and Robot & Monster, as well as The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, has sadly passed away. Personnel details of his passing have not been released.

Nickelodeon Animation has paid tribute to the late artist by posting the following touching message on social media:

"We lost an amazing artist and dear friend in Chris Duncan. Chris was a one of a kind background artist and shared his talents with us through his work on Rugrats, Dora and Friends, Wallykazam, and Robot & Monster.

"Sending our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in paradise, friend ❤️"

Fellow Nickelodeon artist Jim Mortensen (Big Nate, Rugrats revival, Breadwinners, Fairly OddParents, Torrum Tellem) also paid tribute to the late artist by tweeting: "Chris was a force of nature. Hell of a painter and a helluva guy. I bought a motorcycle from him, and he came over to do maintenance on it for YEARS after it was no longer his, just to make sure she was taken care of. He had a big heart."

Nickelodeon Animation further commemorated Chris' work by releasing four backgrounds that he designed:
