FIRST LOOK
To celebrate the upcoming MTG x ATLA collaboration, Wizards of the Coast has given fans their first look at cards from the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender set.
The preview cards feature some old Magic mechanics that will be returning to competitive formats with the ATLA set, including the Lesson spell subtype, Shrine and Ally creature subtype, and double-faced Saga cards that transform into powerful permanents. The preview also highlighted the set's new bending mechanics, with each of the four elements seeing at least one card throughout the reveal.
We do have a look at Fire Lord Sozin, who looks like a fantastic card for Mono-black decks.
We also get a first look at a new mechanic that takes fater bending in the game, and it'll be interesting to see how players will build their decks to utilize this mechanic. There is also a great emphasis on Ally’s in this set, so that could also mean we see an uptick in Ally cards becoming more popular.

RELEASE DATES
Magic: The Gathering - Avatar: The Last Airbender is scheduled to launch Friday, November 21 in both local game stores and big box retailers. Fans can play early at their local game store on Friday, November 14.
Preorders for Magic: The Gathering Avatar: The Last Airbender are open now ahead of the set’s Nov. 21 physical release. Play and Jumpstart boosters cost $6.99, beginner boxes are $34.99, collector boosters are $37.99, and scene boxes are $41.99. Bundles containing nine play boosters, 15 foil basic lands, the Appa lands and a foil promo card cost $69.99, while a $109.99 Commander’s Bundle has five non-foil promo cards instead of the foil one, plus a collector booster. The set will be released on Magic: The Gathering Arena on Tuesday, November 18.
