Bala to Host Classic Nickelodeon Channel on Pluto TV Latin America for One Month

Calling all Balovers! Pluto TV has announced that Mexican Nickelodeon and digital superstar Isabella de La Torre, known to her many fans as Bala, will be taking over the Classic Nickelodeon channel in Latin America (Latinoamérica)!

For one month, Bala curate the content of the Nick Clásico channel, offering viewers the chance to watch some of her favourite classic Nickelodeon series, such as Kenan & Kel, Rocko's Modern Life, CatDog, All Grown Up!, The Wild Thornberrys, The Angry Beavers, and AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, among others.

The social media star, who has just launched her own consumer product line with ViacomCBS Consumer Products and her second single, "Pijama", will also present her music videos in her own VOD category titled Favoritos de Bala.

Pluto TV Latinoamérica is available Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, República Dominicana, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Perú, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay, Venezuela, and very soon, in Brazil. The AVOD streaming service is available to watch via web, mobile devices and Smart TVs, as well as through Chromecast.

ViacomCBS Reportedly Planning to Buy Chilean FTA Channel Chilevisión

ViacomCBS is reportedly eyeing to purchase the Chilean free-to-air (FTA) television channel Chilevisión (CHV) from WarnerMedia. The deal isn't thought to include the soccer-themed channel Canal del Fútbol (CDF), which will continue to be owned by WarnerMedia. ViacomCBS acquired the Argentinian FTA channel Telefe in 2016 and British FTA channel Channel 5 in 2014. ViacomCBS also owns the Australian FTA channel Network 10 following its re-merger with CBS, which acquired the channel in November 2017.

Nuevos cambios tendría Chilevisión (CHV) luego que se informara de un eventual acuerdo con la empresa Viacom Inc, quien compraría la estación televisiva en un monto que oscilaría entre los US$14 a US$20 millones a la empresa Turner, hoy propietaria de la señal que cuenta con sus instalaciones en la ex empresa Machasa, en la comuna de Santiago.

Según consigna El Mostrador, la operación no incluiría al Canal del Fútbol (CDF), que seguiría ligado a Turner, al igual que el terreno donde se emplazan las tres señales de esta empresa: CHV, CDF y CNN.

Cabe indicar que el holding Viacom Inc es propietario del canal argentino Telefé, además de canales con presencia en todo el mundo como Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, Spike, BET, CMT, TV Land, Nick at Nite, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, TeenNick y Paramount Channel, entre otros.

El medio también señala que el precio ofrecido por CHV da cuenta de la grave crisis que sufre actualmente la industria televisiva, recordando que cuando el Grupo Bethia, de Carlos Heller, adquirió Mega el año 2012, tuvieron que desembolsar US$ 182 millones, cifra escandalosamente diferente a los US$20 millones que ofrece Viacom Inc por CHV.

Otra operación que se incluiría dentro de la compra del canal de «Pasapalabra» y «Contigo en la mañana», entre otros, sería la de crear un holding que venda publicidad, acción que se llevaría a cabo en alianza con La Red.

WarnerMedia estaría dispuesto a deshacerse del canal abierto chileno que quedaría en manos de la compañía dueña de otra televisora abierta en Latam, Telefe.

Comienzan a revelarse los rumores que surgieron a mitad de año. ViacomCBS estaría dispuesto a quedarse con la cadena abierta Chilevisión, aún en manos de WarnerMedia, tras negociaciones que se llevaron a cabo en Estados Unidos, reveló en su portal el medio Diario Financiero.

El diario asegura que el canal chileno está a punto de cambiar de dueño, aunque aún no se develó ni si las instalaciones en la ex fábrica Machasa pasara a ViacomCBS como tampoco el monto que desembolsaría la compañía que opera la televisora abierta Telefe de Argentina; las reconocidas señales MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central y Paramount entre otras; además de su plataforma con publicidad Pluto TV.

Según informa el medio, el anuncio no se hizo formal por “razones de libre competencia”. “Abogados de la plaza indican que ViacomCBS, al no tener ingresos generados en Chile, no debería pasar por el cedazo de la Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE). Otros dicen que sí tiene que hacerlo porque aunque solo venda publicidad, y lo haga atreves de su operación en Argentina, igual genera ingresos desde Chile”, asegura en sus líneas Diario Financiero.

Con 60 años en el aire, Chilevision evolucionó estos últimos años de la mano de Turner Chile (hoy WarnerMedia) al adaptarse a las nuevas audiencias en contenidos multiplataforma, ofreciendo una parrilla programática enfocada en contenidos lúdicos, diversos, de alta calidad y que convocan a la familia, además de una reforzada área de noticias en conjunto con CNN Chile y sumar contenidos relevantes locales como las transmisiones de los partidos de futbol de la selección chilena y el torneo de Primera división de ese deporte.

Según asegura el medio especializado chileno Diario Financiero, solo restan los últimos detalles para que el canal actualmente propiedad de Turner Chile (WarnerMedia) sea adquirido por ViacomCBS.

Lo que en agosto eran rumores parecen volverse cada vez más reales: la cadena de TV abierta Chilevisión estaría casi pronta para anunciar su cambio de dueño.

De acuerdo con un extenso artículo de Diario Financiero, donde cita a «altas fuentes» muy adentradas en las negociaciones, ViacomCBS está a punto de cerrar los trámites necesarios para adquirir el canal hasta ahora propiedad de Turner (WarnerMedia).

Según asegura el medio, las tratativas se llevaron a cabo en EEUU directamente entre ejecutivos de AT&T (dueña de WarnerMedia) y ViacomCBS.

Aunque el monto del que inicialmente se habló oscilaba entre los 14 y los 20 millones de dólares, Diario Financiero afirma que se tratará de una suma mucho mayor, dado que ViacomCBS asumiría las deudas de Chilevisión.

De confirmarse, ViacomCBS pasaría a poseer dos grandes cadenas de TV abierta en América Latina, donde ya es dueña de la argentina Telefe (por la que pagó 345 millones de dólares en 2016).

Además, en TV lineal el grupo también cuenta con los canales de TV paga Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Network y VH1.

Desde el primer momento, las informaciones que circulan aseguran que la transacción entre WarnerMedia y ViacomCBS no incluirá las otras propiedades del grupo Turner en Chile: los canales CNN Chile y Canal del Fútbol (CDF), ni las instalaciones de la ex fábrica Machasa, ubicadas en Santiago.

ViacomCBS finalising acquisition of FTA channel Chilevision - report

ViacomCBS is close to finalising the acquisition of Chilean free-to-air TV channel Chilevision from the Turner Latin America group (WarnerMedia), according to unnamed sources familiar with the discussions cited by local business daily Diario Financiero. Following US-based negotiations between executives from ViacomCBS and WarnerMedia owner AT&T, the parties have reached an agreement that would involve ViacomCBS assuming Chilevision’s debts plus an additional payment of around USD 14 million, said the sources. Turner acquired Chilevision for around USD 140 million back in 2010.

The transaction would allow ViacomCBS to increase its Latin American portfolio following its USD 345 million acquisition of Argentina’s Telefe from Telefonica back in 2016. It also operates numerous other pay-TV channels in Latin America including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, MTV and VH1, among others.

Former 'Blue's Clues' Host Steve Burns Selling Brooklyn Home for $3.4M - Skidoo Inside!

The actor, who hosted Blue's Clues from 1996 to 2002, moved into the converted garage and woodshop in 2008

Steve Burns may have found fame during his time spent in an illustrated house, but the former Blue's Clues host's actual home in New York City is artsy in its own right. 

The actor, known as the original host of Nickelodeon's beloved preschool recently put his unique property in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn on the market for $3,350,000, listed with Jonathan Schulz and Jason Miller of Corcoran.

The structure was converted from a garage and woodshop built in 1930. and while much of the unique 2,180-square-foot, two-story structure may look modern inside, many materials used to create it are antique.

For example, some of the walls in the home were crafted using wood from the roof joints of the original structure; and a courtyard, located in the middle of the property, features an ironwood deck created using salvaged pieces of the Coney Island boardwalk. An ivy-draped brick wall is also a remnant of the former garage.

Burns, 47, moved into the home (which just happens to have a bright blue facade) when it was completed in 2008.

“In all my years of NYC real estate experience, I’ve never seen such a unique and special home," Schulz told PEOPLE. "With the incredible amount of outdoor living, and the garage for easy access, it’s almost like it was built specifically for these trying times.”

In addition to two bedrooms and three bathrooms, the house also boasts an open kitchen, office, powder room, and a living room-dining room combo with 28-foot ceilings.

The second-story bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with glass walls that lead out onto a private deck, while the main-level bedroom has its own unique feature: walls of windows that fold down to connect it to the central courtyard.

In the 400-square-foot courtyard — an uncommon amenity in New York City — artificial turf covers the ground. Burns told New York Magazine in 2010 that he’d slept out there a time or two when the weather was nice.

A walkway overlooking the courtyard, on the second level, leads out to a rooftop terrace. The home also offers a private garage with space for storage.

Burns, who’s also a musician, appeared on Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2002, when he left and was replaced by Donovan Patton as “Joe.”

“I knew I wasn’t going to be doing children’s television all my life, mostly because I refused to lose my hair on a kid’s TV show, and it was happening, fast,” he joked of leaving the series in a special called Behind the Clues: 10 Years with Blue in 2006.

In fall 2019, a Blue’s Clues reboot brought the animated dog back to TV with the launch of Blue’s Clues and You, hosted by Broadway star Joshua Dela Cruz. 

“I had the great honor of being a part of the search for the new host, and I give Josh two thumbs up!” Burns said in a statement. “He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt.”

In September 2018, he shared a screenshot of an announcement naming Dela Cruz as host, writing on Instagram, “You’re gonna love him. [tosses keys to big red chair to @j_deecee, wipes tear, disappears back into the fog and gloaming].”

Burns is still very much involved in Blue's Clues, from directing episodes and even guest starring along with his predecessor, Patton, who play Josh's cousins.

Remember Steve Burns from Nickelodeon’s “Blue Clue’s”? The man many remember donning a striped green shirt and interacting with everyone’s favorite blue dog is selling his multi-million dollar New York home.

Steve Burns has listed his 2,180 square-foot Brooklyn home for $3.35 million, according to a listing by Jonathan Schulz and Jason Miller with The Corcoran Group. The actor bought the home in 2007 for $770,000 and is now hoping to cash in.

The 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhome was once dubbed “one of the coolest abodes in the city ” by New York Magazine. It was renovated in 2008 by MESH Architectures, 6sqft.com reported.

With an appropriate blue exterior, the 2-story home features 28-foot ceilings in the living room and dining room and has a 400-foot courtyard.

The courtyard includes an ironwood deck made from wood salvaged from the Coney Island boardwalk, according to the listing.

If that isn’t enough outdoor space, there are also two roof terraces, one located just off the upstairs bedroom.

The listing refers to the home as a “chic one-of-a-kind masterpiece.”

Schulz told People he has never seen “such a unique and special home.”

“With the incredible amount of outdoor living, and the garage for easy access, it’s almost like it was built specifically for these trying times,” the agent said.

Burns appeared in “Blue’s Clues” from 1996 to 2002 and received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for the role.
