Nickelodeon Northern Europe has announced the super news that Nickelodeon Germany, Nickelodeon Switzerland and Nickelodeon Austria will premiere the first two episodes of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the latest series in the long-running Pokémon Japanese children's anime television franchise, in November 2016 as a special sneak-peek preview, before Nick Germany, Nick Switzerland and Nick Austria fully debuts the latest Pokémon season in 2017!
Nickelodeon Switzerland (Schweiz) and Nickelodeon Austria (Österreich) will premiere the first two episodes of Pokémon Sun and Moon on Saturday 19th November 2016 at 17:45, and Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) will debut the first two episodes of Pokémon Sun and Moon, locally titled Pokémon Sonne & Mond, the following day, Sunday 20th November 2016, at 13:15 Uhr.
The latest Pokémon anime series is inspired by the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Moon video games, which will be released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in Europe on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.
The brand-new Pokémon Sun and Moon anime series will follow Ash as he visits the Alola region, where Sun and Moon are based, to attend a school run by Professor Kukui with the intent to graduate. Ash will be joined by his ever faithful partner, Pikachu, as well as fellow classmates, including Lillie (Professor Kukui's assistant in the Pokemon Sun & Moon games) as well as Mallow, Sophocles, and Lana, who are all Trial Captains in the games. Like in the games, Ash will encounter all manner of unique Pokémon to the Alola region as well as Alolan variants of pre-existing Pokémon.
In the trailer for the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime, which debuted on Japanese television earlier this month, Ash is seen wearing a Z-Ring and doing a dance with Pikachu to perform a Z-Move, hinting that the series is also expected to showcase the new Z-Moves that are also present in the upcoming games.
Pokemon Sun & Moon: The Series will also feature a fresh new animation style.
The new Pokemon anime will begin in November in Japan and will make its way around the world during early 2017.
Additionally, Nickelodeon Northern Europe has announced the further exciting news that Nickelodeon Germany, Nickelodeon Switzerland and Nickelodeon Austria will also be premiering the brand-new Pokémon movie "Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel", the 19th Pokémon anime movie and the third film in the Pokémon: XY series, in November 2016!
Nickelodeon Switzerland (Schweiz) and Nickelodeon Austria (Österreich) will premiere "Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel" on Saturday 19th November 2016 at 16:10 Uhr, just before the debut of Pokémon Sun and Moon, and Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) will debut the all-new Pokémon film, locally titled Volcanion und das mechanische Wunderwerk, the following day, Sunday 20th November 2016, at 11:40 Uhr, just before the debut of Pokémon Sonne & Mond!
In the brand-new Pokémon: XY movie, Ash and his friends encounter the Legendary Pokémon Volcanion after a blast of steam from the sky, and Ash becomes bonded to it by an unknown force. Volcanion, who hates humans, is forced to bring Ash along as it heads to the Azoth Kingdom in pursuit of the artificial Legendary Pokémon Magearna, hoping to rescue it from a corrupt minister who has stolen it with the intent of using Magearna's mysterious power to conquer the kingdom of machinery. In the film, Ash and Volcanion are forced to work together to rescue Magearna.

Back Stage message board member 'Hollywoodkid' is reporting the exciting news that, following auditioning actors this month, Nickelodeon will commence production on I Am Frankie, the networks English language adaptation of Nickelodeon Latin America's hit live-action series, Yo Soy Franky, on Thursday 1st December 2016!
Please note, however, that this news is currently unconfirmed by Nickelodeon.
I Am Frankie is the story of "Frankie", an experimental android who navigates the perils and wonders of being a teenager. She adapts to the real world quite well, despite having no feelings or emotions, but all that changes when she begins to experience family life, make friends and have a boyfriend. Her biggest challenge will be to fall in-love without her operating system malfunctioning!
Nickelodeon has ordered 20 x 30 minute episodes which will be distributed to Nickelodeon's global audiences spanning 160 countries and territories via the brand's more than 80 channels and branded blocks.
I Am Frankie, originally produced as Yo Soy Franky by Nickelodeon Latin America in Colombia, was created by renowned Argentine writer Marcela Citterio, produced in Colombia by Televideo, and is distributed by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) The Americas through its Division of International Sales Programming (IPS), the division responsible for the international distribution of programs, formats and activities produced by the brands of the company.
The English language version, I Am Frankie, is being adapted for global audiences by Catharina Ledeboer, who has written multiple Nickelodeon hits, including most recently Every Witch Way (which completed four seasons) and Talia in the Kitchen.
I Am Frankie will be the first global series to be produced in the new state of the art Viacom International Studios in Miami. The studio, which boasts two 15,000 sq. foot stages and was completed in late 2015, serves as a multiplatform production hub for all of Viacom's brands.

Nick Jr. Italy Acquires Rights To "Nature Cat"
9 Story Media Group has inked a raft of new broadcast deals for the popular animated series Nature Cat that include sales to Nick Jr. Italy (Italia) via Funwood Media and Hop TV in Israel!
SVT (Sweden), TG4 (Ireland), SIC (Portugal), Canal Panda (Spain) and E Junior (the Middle East) have just acquired the broadcast rights to the Emmy-nominated, 40 x 22-minute series for kids ages three to eight.
Since premiering in the US on PBS KIDS in November 2015, the 9 Story, Spiffy Pictures and WTTW Chicago co-production has been a ratings success with 33 million US viewers tuning in. The series has also become a top-five performer on Canadian kidsnet Family CHRGD shortly after bowing this past July.
Coming up next month, PBS KIDS will air a special Halloween-themed episode of the series to accompany Nature Cat Park Builder, a new free online game for pbskids.org and the PBS KIDS Games App.
Co-created by Spiffy's founding siblings David and Adam Rudman, Nature Cat follows the learning adventures of a regular house Cat named Fred, who transforms into his alter ego Nature Cat once his humans leave for the day, and his friends. In each episode, Nature Cat can't wait to get outside for a day of nature excursions and bravery, but there's one problem: he's a house cat with no instincts for nature. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of investigation, discovery moments and humour, all while inspiring children to go outside and play.
9 Story handles the intellectual property's (IP) international distribution and consumer products rights outside of the US, while HiHat Media handles all brand licensing activities within the US.
The series was recently nominated for a 2016 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Writing in an Animation Program" as well as a Television Critics Association Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming."
The new TV deals come on the heels of former Aardman sales head Alix Wiseman joining 9 Story to grow its business across EMEA.
The North American English-language dub of the series features the vocal talents of Saturday Night Live veterans Taran Killam (The Amanda Show) as Nature Cat, Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters 2016) as Squeeks, Bobby Moynihan as Hal, Chris Parnell (As Told by Ginger, Glenn Martin DDS) as various characters, and Kenan Thompson (All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger) as Ronald, along with actress Kate Micucci as Daisy.
