Nate Burleson in Ongoing Talks to Expand Relationship with Nickelodeon Following 'NFL Wild Card Game' Success

Earlier this year, Nickelodeon and CBS scored a touchdown when they hosted a special slime-filled presentation of the National Football League’s Wild Card game against the New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears in January. The "alternative" broadcast of the game was a hit with viewers, delivering Nickelodeon's highest ratings in nearly four years.

One of the anchors in the booth during the special was CBS Sports’ analyst Nate Burleson (pictured) - and it seems like Burleson was also a hit with fans, as Nickelodeon welcomed him back to present the network's “slime-lights” of Super Bowl LV, which aired during CBS' halftime coverage of the event.

And now, Burleson is reportedly in "ongoing conversations" with Nickelodeon about expanding that relationship!

Peacock Greenlights 'The Siwa Dance Pop Revolution'; JoJo to Continue Relationship with Nickelodeon

NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service has picked up a new unscripted series from Nickelodeon superstar and YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa!

The Siwa Dance Pop Revolution (working title) was developed by Bryan Stinson of Stinson Media and Jessalynn Siwa (JoJo’s mom and manager). Evolution Media will produce the series, represented by Alex Baskin, Douglas Ross, Brian McCarthy and Sean Rankine as EPs, along with Stinson, Jessalynn, JoJo and Caryn Sterling.

The live-action competition series is a spin on the star search model, following Jessalynn and JoJo as they create and launch a brand-new pop music group. The duo will hunt for the most talented kids—specifically triple-threats who can sing, dance and act—through a series of competitions and performances.

Prior to the announcement, JoJo teased via Instagram that something was in the works. “Pretttty big announcement coming soon,” the songstress wrote alongside a picture of her and her mom. In her own social media post, Jessalynn shared, “Patiently waiting to tell you all EVERYTHING xo!”

The duo also officially announced Studio Siwa, which according to the official Instagram account, is set to launch in June 2021.

2021 has so-far been a big year for JoJo. In January, the star came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, prompting love and support from her millions of fans. She later gave an inspiring speech at the 32nd annual GLAAD Awards in April. Fans have also launched a petition to rename an airport after the YouTuber.

JoJo originally became popular on reality series Dance Moms, and then parlayed that success onto YouTube, where she currently has 12.3 million subscribers. A partnership with Nickelodeon, which has encompassed merchandise and several TV and digital series (including The JoJo and BowBow Show Show), has helped Siwa expand her brand and fanbase.

Aside from their new unscripted series, JoJo also has a musical in the works for Nickelodeon. Titled The J Team, the movie “follows a young girl named JoJo whose life is turned upside down when her beloved dance coach Val decides to retire and is replaced by a sparkle-hating instructor named Poppy. Wanting to stay in the running for an upcoming dance competition, JoJo and her best friends, The Rubies, must try their hardest to abide by Poppy’s new, harsh rules. Realizing she cannot hide her sparkle or bow anymore, JoJo is kicked out of her dance troupe and must rediscover what dancing means to her.”

The actor filmed the upcoming flick in Vancouver throughout March 2021.

With JoJo's career heading into new directions, SIWANATORZ have been wondering whether or not the star will be staying at Nickelodeon. Fans can rest assured, however! Siwa’s publicist confirmed to Kidscreen at press time that her relationship with Nickelodeon will continue.

Fans can watch JoJo's Nickelodeon specials on Paramount+!

Kirk Fogg Dishes on New 'Legends of the Hidden Temple' Reboot

'90s Nick Kids rejoiced on Tuesday (May 11) when The CW announced that they were rebooting Nickelodeon's iconic game show Legends of the Hidden Temple for adults! However, as the announcement didn't mention a host, one of the biggest questions fans had - apart from "how do I apply to be on the show?" - was whether we would see the show's original host, Kirk Fogg returning.

You might recall, Kirk headed up hosting duties when Legends originally ran for 3 seasons in the mid-'90s. So, with that in mind, TMZ asked the man himself if he was coming back to pick up the baton again. Check out his answer - he didn't say no!

It doesn't sound like he'll necessarily be hosting this new version, but he says he's in talks with the network and aiming to be involved in some capacity.

It could be that Legends follows in the footsteps of Double Dare. When Nickelodeon revived that game show a few years ago with new host Liza Koshy, original host Marc Summers also returned to provide color commentary on the challenges and lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.

Kirk previously returned to the property in 2016 for Nickelodeon's Legends of the Hidden Temple movie.

Kirk also revealed what what the studio/arena will look like. However, he might have spilled more than he should by revealing it's gonna be WAY bigger than the OG one kids were running back in the day -- but still faithful to Olmec's original labyrinths.

In The CW's announcement, the network revealed that the entire show is being taken out of the studio into a "jungle" and scaled up with tougher challenges and much bigger prizes on the line.

And, as far as potential contestants, well, TMZ's reporter actually pitched an idea Kirk was digging. The failed contenders from once upon a time could get a redo!

If you really want some nostalgia, peep the end of our video to hear Kirk's rehashed line from the end of the old episodes. Dude's still got it!

If you're interested in applying to be a contestant on the all new Legends of the Hidden Temple, you can register at https://legendscasting.com!

Paddington: The Story of a Bear (9 July – 31 October 2021) is a new family-friendly exhibition celebrating one of the world’s most beloved fictional bears over 60 years on from when he was first published by HarperCollins Children’s Books in 1958.

The exhibition has activities for visitors to practise their hard stares, take their own self ‘pawtrait’ and follow the trail of marmalade left by Paddington, as well as a special printed guide for families. Two local primary schools in Camden – Argyle Primary School and Edith Neville Primary School – have been working with the Library since November 2020 to create new content for display in the exhibition for all visitors to enjoy.
