Kenan Thompson has sold his memoir for $1 million!

The Nickelodeon alum and Saturday Night Live veteran, 43, is set to pen a "humorous" autobiography and publishing insiders have revealed that he has managed to clinch a seven-figure deal.
Page Six reports: "A source said that the comedian had two book concepts in the works and that he sold the humorous memoir for a seven-figure payday."
A rep for SNL had no comment.
It will become the debut book by the comedian, who is remembered for starring on Nickelodeon's beloved '90s series

Thompson began his career as a star on CNN’s
Real News for Kids before moving to Nickelodeon. He
recently recalled working with late SNL star Chris Farley in 1997 — when Farley was a guest star on
All That. “I learned literally a wealth of career knowledge in three hours, just watching a pro take direction,” Thompson recalled.
These days Kenan continues to star on
SNL and in his own self-titled sitcom which premiered earlier this year on NBC and was recently renewed for a second season. Kenan also recently returned to his Nickelodeon roots, executive producing the network's
All That reboot and hosting
Kids' Choice Awards 2021.
However, he will join a long line of Saturday Night Live veterans in releasing a book, namely including Tina Fey (Mean Girls, 30 Rock), Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), David Spade (Just Shoot Me, Rules of Engagement), Colin Jost, Gilda Radner, Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation, Duncanville), Jay Mohr, and others.
Thompson is the longest-serving cast member in the NBC sketch comedy show’s history — having starred on SNL since 2003.
News of Kenan's mega bucks book deal comes just a week after it was announced that he is to host the People's Choice Awards.
In a statement, Kenan said: “I can’t believe I get to host the PCAs!! I’m beyond blessed to be nominated twice and part of two more nominations for SNL. Good times indeed. “Congrats to all the nominees – we already won!!”
He will front the annual awards ceremony which is set to take place in early December, with stars such as Adele, Billie Eilish and Jennifer Hudson up for accolades.
The awards will air on both NBC and E! on 7 December and bosses are excited to see what Kenan brings to the table.
