Nickelodeon UK's Official Website, Nick.co.uk, Launches Brand New "Young Hopefuls" Website

To celebrate the upcoming London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Games of the XXX Olympiad) which London, UK will host later this year during summer 2012, the official Nickelodeon UK and Ireland website, Nick.co.uk, has launched a brand new website called "Get Involved", which aims to encourage British children to be active, and "get up, get out and get involved". You can visit Nick UK's brand new "Get Involved" website at nick.co.uk/getinvolved.

Nickelodeon UK's brand new "Get Involved" website features biographies of some of the young British athletes who are hoping to earn medals (gold, silver or bronze) at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including British taekwondo athlete Aaron Cook, British athletics runner and Team GB hopeful Jacqueline Joey Duck, British Paralympic Javelin, Discus and Shot Put athlete fro Wales, Nathan Stephens, and British weightlifter Zoe Smith.

Nickelodeon UK's new "Get Involved" website, Nick.co.uk/Shows/GetInvolved, also features three online streaming video clips from Nickelodeon UK's brand new London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games-themed "Nickelodeon Short" series called "Nickelodeon's Young Hopefuls" (formally "Denise Lewis Presents Nickelodeon's Young Hopefuls"), in which young British athletes who are hoping to earn medals (gold, silver or bronze) for Team GB at the upcoming London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games tell Nickelodeon viewers about their personnel stories, such as what inspired them to excel in their chosen sports, how tough their training regimes are, and what winning Gold at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Zoe Smith talks about her journey to become a Weightlifter; Joey Duck shows us how she prepares for sports events; and Aaron Cook talks about how the "Power Rangers" inspired him to start Taekwondo.

The official Nickelodeon blog has also made a special "Get Involved!" blog post which features tips on how everyone can get involved and active, and also features useful links to other sports themed websites which feature more information about how to "get up, get out and get involved".
