Two Chicago Artists Chosen In Tie Decision To Design Winner's Trophy For Nickelodeon's Tales Of The Turtles 400 Cup Race

Chicago, IL - August 9, 2017 - The inaugural "A Good Day For Play" hosted by Good Details Gallery on Saturday 5th August 2017, in Chicago's Art District, delivered an afternoon of games and activities for the entire community. Sponsored by Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, the event culminated in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles branded art competition!

Good Details and Nickelodeon teamed up to kick off "A Good Day for Play" with an art showdown featuring six renowned Chicago-based artists. Max Sansing, Sentrock, Tubsz, E.LEE, Lisa Gray and JC Rivera faced off in a three-day competition to create custom Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles murals in their respective artistic styles and have an opportunity to design the trophy for the MONSTER Energy NASCAR Cup Series race Tales of the Turtles 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

The competition was tough, but the attendees and celebrity judges ended in a tie, selecting Tubsz and Max Sansing to co-design the trophy. Artist E. LEE will have his work featured on a trackside billboard.

"All of these artists and their pieces are amazing," said Bubba Wallace. "Each one is so different. You can really see their unique interpretation of the Turtles theme and how they adapted it to their painting style."

A Good Day for Play celebrated the arts and its ability to inspire, captivate and illuminate the communities we live in through creative interactions with Chicagoans of all ages.

"Through this event and art competition, in partnership Good Details Gallery, we are giving Chicagoans an opportunity to experience some of the fun and excitement of Tales of the Turtles 400, coming to Chicagoland Speedway Sept. 14-17, for an action-packed weekend on and off the track for NASCAR and Turtles fans alike," said Anthony DiCosmo, Senior Vice President of Sports Marketing.

This Sept. 14-17 marks the second partnership for Chicagoland Speedway and Nickelodeon, who last year partnered to bring fans the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 race which featured art created by renowned artist Hebru Brantley. This is the seventh consecutive year Chicagoland Speedway will kick off the Playoffs for the MONSTER Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
