Nickelodeon To Host "Hey Arnold!: From Hillwood To The Jungle!" Panel At New York Comic Con 2017 (Updated 10/3)

Hillwood is coming to New York, and even Stoop Kid is invited. Den of Geek has revealed that Nickelodeon is bringing Hey Arnold! to New York Comic Con for a panel on Friday, October 6th at 12:15 p.m.!

The panel will be held at Hammerstein Ballroom, which is about a 15 minute walk from the Javits Center, the site of NYCC 2017.

The iconic cartoon is returning to Nickelodeon on Thursday, November 23rd for an all-new feature length film titled Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie. To celebrate, Nick is hosting a panel titled “Hey Arnold!: From Hillwood to the Jungle!” featuring creator Craig Bartlett and voice actors from the original series including Lane Toran (Arnold), Francesca Marie Smith (Helga), Anndi McAfee (Phoebe) and Olivia Hack (Rhonda). The panel will be moderated by Keely Flaherty from BuzzFeed.

The official info for the panel says it will “explore the popularity of the animated series and what to expect when Arnold, Helga, Gerald and all of the Hillwood neighbors return to the TV screen in Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, including an exclusive sneak peek at the TV movie.” Below is the full panel listing:

Arnold and the gang are back! Fans will rejoice when stars from Nickelodeon’s beloved series Hey Arnold! gather in New York. Original show creator Craig Bartlett and the series’ classic voice actors-- Lane Toran (Arnold), Francesca Marie Smith (Helga), Anndi McAfee (Phoebe) and Olivia Hack (Rhonda)--will explore the popularity of the animated series and what to expect when Arnold, Helga, Gerald and all of the Hillwood neighbors return to the TV screen in Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, including an exclusive sneak peek at the TV movie. A similar panel took place in July at San Diego Comic-Con where they screened a sneak peek video with the first footage from the movie (above). Bartlett gave the inside scoop on the history of the long-awaited Jungle Movie in an super interview earlier this year.


UPDATE (9/30): Bryan Konietzko, the co-creator or Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, has announced that he will be doing a signing with Irene Koh, the artist for The Legend of Korra comics, and Janet Varney, the voice actor who plays Korra, at the Dark Horse Comics booth, #1636 on Saturday 7th October 2017 from 10:30–11:30 AM! Dark Horse will be giving away posters of Irene’s above artwork, and they’ll have copies of “Turf Wars: Part One” for sale, along with Avatar comics and our various art books.

Bryan will also be doing a separate signing on Friday, October 6th, from 10:30–11:30 AM at the First Second Books booth, #2239. They'll be giving away free copies of this 11x17″ poster for Bryan's upcoming graphic novel series Threadworlds during the signing. If you want to bring Avatar/Korra stuff, he'll be happy to sign that too.

Additionally, Nickelodeon and Dark Horse will be treating fans to a panel worthy of Aang himself at NYCC 2017! Fans can join the creative team behind The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars comic series and other special guests for a further exploration of the Avatar world. Fans will also have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of the elements in a fun trivia competition for awesome prizes! The "The Comic Book Elements of Avatar and Korra" panel will take place on Saturday, 7th October between 1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. in room 1A21.

BOOM! Studios will also be hosting a "Go Go Power Rangers Comics!" panel at NYCC 2017 on Thursday, 5th October between 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. in room 1A24.

BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers comics have changed everything fans thought they knew about the original five teenagers with attitude! Join writer Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), alongside legendary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actors David Yost (“Billy”), Walter Jones (“Zack”) and more guests! This 25th Anniversary celebration of Saban’s Power Rangers will be moderated by James Viscardi (ComicBook.com), with your first look at breaking news on the historic revelations in store for the Power Rangers you know and love…along with all new Rangers you’ve never met before!

Also at NYCC will be '90s Nickelodeon icon Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina: The Teenage Witch), who, along with her mother Paula Hart (Melissa & Joey), will be talking about their new movie, an reimagination the '80s cult classic, The Watcher in the Woods for Lifetime.
