Rob Paulsen to Guest Star on New 'SpongeBob SquarePants Special 'Escape from Beneath Glove World'

Voice acting legend Rob Paulsen, who has lent his voice to tons of animated characters, including Raphael (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 1987), Jack Fenton (Danny Phantom), Donatello (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 2012), Yakko Warner (Animaniacs) and Pinky (Pinky and the Brain), as well as serving as the voice director of the latest series of TMNT, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has revealed that he'll be voicing a character in the upcoming brand-new SpongeBob SquarePants multi-part special, "Escape from Beneath Glove World"! To celebrate, Rob shared a photo of himself holding the script for the episodes first take on Instagram, which took place today, Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

According to the script's cover, "Escape from Beneath Glove World" is written by Mr. Lawrence and has the production code #1250. As the script is for "Escape from Beneath Glove World" Part 1, it's safe to say that this episode will have at least two parts. As the episode is just being recorded, it'll probably be at least a year before we'll see the finished episode.

SpongeBob SquarePants is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and Nickelodeon is celebrating with the Best Year Ever. The year-long event kicks off Friday, July 12 with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special that will feature for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice. In the one-hour special, Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where they come across a few familiar characters during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile, the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise party for SpongeBob. The "Best Year Ever" will culminate Friday, May 22, 2020 when The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge is released in theaters.
