'SpongeBob' Artist Mashes Nickelodeon and Smash Bros. Characters

In honor of Nickelodeon's annual Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament, SpongeBob SquarePants storyboard artist Kurt Snyder recently unveiled a poster for this year's internal studio event featuring iconic Nickelodeon characters cosplaying as Smash fighters!

2019 will be the fourth Smash tournament held at Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank, California, and Snyder decided to mash-up the studio's famous faces with Nintendo's roster to produce the poster below which he tweeted out:

Snyder was aided in the task by fellow SpongeBob storyboard worker Tim Prendergast, and as you can see, there's a whole host of Nickelodeon characters from the '90s through to modern day adopting the roles of Nintendo's popular brawlers. Highlights include Rugrats' Tommy as Ness, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Michelangelo riding a Turtle-ised clown car, and an evil little Ren from Ren & Stimpy as Mewtwo in the bottom left. The poster also features Invader ZIM and GIR, CatDog (as Ice Climbers), Jenny (aka XJ9) from My Life as a Teenage Robot, Norbert from Angry Beavers, Rocko and Heffer from Rocko's Modern Life, Lincoln Loud from The Loud House, Arnold Shortman from Hey Arnold!, Jimmy Neutron, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Wanda from Fairly OddParents. The entire thing is pretty special. Here's the whole uncropped poster:

According to Snyder, making the picture was a lot of fun, though he regrets that he didn’t have more time to add in additional characters.

Which character is your favorite? Who would you like to see added, if given the chance?
