ViacomCBS Unveils First Look at Nickelodeon's 'Goldie’s Oldies', 'The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj'

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has unveiled a first look at Nickelodeon International's upcoming series, Goldie’s Oldies and The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj, as part of the media company's new video highlighting the importance of Diversity and Inclusion!

The video can be found embedded below, with the part about Nickelodeon's upcoming productions starting around the 1:43 mark. I've also made the segment into an animated gif, which can also be watched below.

About Goldie’s Oldies:

Announced in October 2019, Goldie’s Oldies is a brand new live action comedy series, and the first original commission made exclusively for Nickelodeon International’s channels and platforms in more than 170 territories outside the U.S.

Goldie’s Oldies, a 20 x 22 minute live action situation comedy to be filmed in studio and on location, is produced by Viacom’s in-house BAFTA-winning production arm, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) UK, marking the studio’s first move into scripted comedy, first commission for Nickelodeon and a significant step into children’s TV production, following previous work for Channel 5’s multiplatform preschool brand, Milkshake!.

Goldie’s Oldies focuses on the life of teenager Goldie, whose life is turned upside down when her family moves in with their Grandpa Maury and his three ‘70 something’ room mates. The series, which has an eleven strong global writing team, will begin filming in January 2020 and is set to air later next year across Nickelodeon’s international channels.

VIS UK is producing the series out of Manchester, expanding upon the launch of VIS UK’s first regional office at Salford’s dock10 MediaCity UK earlier this year. Goldie’s Oldies will tap into a number of local filming resources, including local on- and off-screen talent, studios, equipment and locations. Filming took place in 2020, briefly taking a break due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Goldie’s Oldies was created by Evan Thaler Hickey (Top Wing, Go Away , Unicorn!, The Magic School Bus Rides Again) and the head writer is Mark Oswin (Hunter Street, So Awkward). It will be executive produced for VIS UK by Trevor Klein.

About The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj:

Nickelodeon International is teaming up with Nickelodeon India, a part of Viacom18 that is a joint venture between ViacomCBS and Network18, to coproduce The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj. The new series marks the first collaboration between the top kids’ entertainment brand and the leading Indian kids’ category brand from India’s fastest growing entertainment network.

Currently in production with Nickelodeon India of Viacom18, The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj is slated to roll out across Nickelodeon International in 2021. With a mysterious time-altering app at their fingertips, the series follows the reality-bending adventures of a pair of cousin-brothers, as they pause, rewind, fast-forward and slow-motion their way into a whole host of rowdy laugh-out-loud exploits.

The international collaboration is underway on the new 20 x 30-minute 2D animated series, with animation and storyboards developing in India, scripting in progress in the U.S. and U.K., and casting initiated in the U.S.

Chris Rose, VP, Animation, Nickelodeon International and Anu Sikka, Head Creative, Content & Research, Kids TV Network at Viacom18 are overseeing the project. The head writer of the series is Jordan Gershowitz.

ViacomCBS has been bolstering its Diversity and Inclusion efforts in recent months, including launching new initiatives to elevate new diverse creative voices and storytellers.
