Stars of 'Fantasy Football' Movie Discuss Film | Associated Press

The stars of the upcoming Nickelodeon/Paramount Plus movie Fantasy Football discuss the fun energy of the Atlanta-based video gaming movie and how it appeals to all audiences.

Speaking about the movie, Kelly Rowland recently said: "Right now, I'm filming a movie, 'Fantasy Football,' with Omari Hardwick and big boss Marsai Martin. She's producing this film and doing an incredible job. Anton Cropper is the director of it. Nickelodeon, Paramount have just really created this beautiful space and working environment, and it's just been too much fun. I was like, 'Is it always this fun?' Like, you know what I mean? So, it's been fantastic," said Rowland. "So, films—I must say, film and TV have really kind of intrigued me the most right now."

"It all came at the perfect time because I've always wanted to do a father daughter film and also just have a beautiful tie in when it comes to family and it being in the fantasy aspect yet being so realistic at the same time, it's just- it's so fun."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Marsai Martin, actress, producer, plays Callie Coleman:
"Why should people see Fantasy Football? Because it is heartfelt. It is funny. It is all about football for the NFL fans out there, and I think it's so beautifully original that it makes you super intrigued when you see the title and the people a part of it."

"For me as soon as I saw football, which obviously I understood it to be the backdrop when I read the script or heard about it. I didn't read the script at first. It was really just a meeting with SpringHill and Genius, but then when I saw Fantasy in that element and I thought, 'Oh this could be interesting if we can actually pull it off and suspend disbelief enough to not have people walking away looking at this football movie with all of these fantastical realms and elements to it and not be hokey.'"

9. Rome Flynn shooting football scene
10. SOUNDBITE (English) Rome Flynn, Actor, plays Anderson Fisher:
"It's a funny scene in the movie where he's going through these different changes and he's trying to hide from me because Marsai's character is controlling him and different hair and different everything, so it's just really funny and so during that whole process it took like three days to film that scene."
