Last week brought us another incredible episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, putting the cadets in mortal danger on their first away mission. This week the series is slowing things down for an episode which focusses on their home lives during a break from school. New episodes continue to roll out new episodes every Thursday on Paramount+ in the U.S. and UK.
This week’s episode, “Ko’Zeine”, is written by Alex Taub & Eric Anthony Glover and directed by Andi Armaganian. Here’s the synopsis for the episode.
As our cadets return home for their first school holiday, they must choose between what their families expect of them and their own dreams for the future — including an aspiring captain who’s secretly willing to risk everything to re-write her own past, and an aristocratic cadet called to serve his planet way before he’s ready.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy stars Holly Hunter as the Chancellor of Starfleet Academy, the Starfleet cadets played by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins and Bella Shepard, plus Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, and guest stars Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, as well as recurring guest stars Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.
Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau serve as co-showrunners and executive produce the series alongside executive producers Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa and John Weber. The series’ premiere episode is written by Gaia Violo and directed by Alex Kurtzman.
