Nickelodeon has reportedly decided to cancel its hit animated series The Loud House following 11 seasons.
The news was revealed by The Loud House staff writer Kevin Sullivan in a post on Facebook, in which he also revealed that he has left Nickelodeon after 22 years as there wasn't a show he could transition to.
In a post dated Saturday, February 7 on Facebook, Sullivan said:
"After 22 1/2 years, yesterday was my last day at Nickelodeon. From Fatherhood, to The X's, to OddParents, Danny Phantom, and TUFF Puppy, to The Loud House... I've had the most amazing, unexpected and unpredictable career and I couldn't be more grateful or proud. I certainly hope it's not over yet, either. I know the state of animation is dire at the moment, but I've still got fart jokes to write!"
Replying to a fan about why he left Nickelodeon, Sullivan added:
"I left because The Loud House ended and there was no other show for me to jump onto. Animation is definitely struggling right now."
The Loud House debuted on Nickelodeon in May 2016 and centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family.
The news follows the recent announcement that The Loud House had been renewed for season 11, which will be comprised of the episodes originally produced to be part of the second halve of season nine. In 2024, Nickelodeon started to to split seasons into two to keep their sizes more consistent with the season lengths currently consumed on streaming services where all shows ultimately get added.
About The Loud House:
Ever wonder what it’s like having a big family? Well, in The Loud House, 11-year-old Lincoln Loud gives viewers an inside look at what it takes to survive in the chaos of a huge household, especially as the only boy with 10 sisters - Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lana, Lily, and Lisa! The trick to surviving is to remain calm, cool, and collected. But most importantly for Lincoln, you’ve got to have a plan. With all the chaos, and craziness, one thing is always for sure: there is never a dull moment in the Loud house.
As one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon, the property also has been translated into a comic book series, which continues to roll out new stories, chapter books, a digital album, and a podcast, Listen Out Loud, along with companion series The Casagrandes and multiple movies. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner. Kyle Marshall serves as co-executive producer, and Ashley Kliment-Baker is the art director.
