Fairly OddParents' Creator Finally Reveals Who Timmy Turner Married

Viewers saw Timmy's children in season 4 of the beloved cartoon series, but their mom remained a mystery until now

NEED TO KNOW

  • The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman is finally answering the question of who Timmy Turner marries
  • A season four episode revealed Timmy had two children, but not who their mother is
  • Hartman ran down the three main candidates: Timmy's crush Trixie, Tootie who has a crush on Timmy and Chloe, who shares Timmy's fairies

It's a question fans have been asking for over 20 years — who does Timmy Turner marry? Finally, creator Butch Hartman has answered.

Hartman, who also created Danny Phantom and Bunsen Is a Beast, opened up about the question in an April 24 video on his YouTube channel.

The Fairly OddParents followed Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy, and his two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. Though they grant his every wish, they often get Timmy into more trouble and make problems worse — until they figure out an inventive way to solve them.

The Fairly OddParents aired beginning in 2001 on Nickelodeon. The cartoon series ended in 2006, only to return in 2007. It finally wrapped up in 2017.

But the mystery of Timmy's future wife goes back to season four's “Channel Chasers,” which aired as a TV movie. The episode shows the future, where Timmy has two children, Tommy and Tammy.

Tammy's costume leads to some speculation. She's wearing the same glasses Tootie (the younger sister of Timmy's evil babysitter Vicky) does, and she's wearing a headband like Timmy's crush Trixie Tang.

In his video, Hartman, 61, adds one more suspect: Timmy's neighbor Chloe, who lives across the street. Thanks to a shortage of fairies, Timmy has to share Cosmo and Wanda with her.

“Now, Chloe's sweet, she's smart, she's funny, she's a go-getter, she's very energetic and her Timmy pretty much get along, but they're always at odds about who gets to have Cosmo and Wanda first, right? So, that's one possibility,” Hartman said.

As for Trixie, Timmy has the “biggest crush ever” on her, but Hartman points out that in the season four episode “Just the Two of Us,” he wishes that he and Trixie were the only two people in the world. “Then he quickly starts realizing that Trixie's a handful, and it's really hard to deal with her on a one-to-one basis, and that she's always, always, always, always wanting him to tell her that she's pretty,” Hartman said.

Tootie, meanwhile, has a “gigantic, persistent crush on Timmy, to the point of where Timmy has to avoid her at all costs because she is just so over the top.”

Hartman said he's basing his feelings about who Timmy would marry on his “existing knowledge of the ladies involved, based on who he would mesh with the best, and based on who I really think he should marry.”

Because of Trixie's issues when she and Timmy are alone, Hartman said, “I don't think she's right for Timmy. “

Then there's Chloe. Hartman said that because she and Timmy were sharing their fairies, they're “already in a marriage together.” He compares it to “sharing custody of the kids” after a divorce.

That leaves Tootie, who is “sweet and kind and loves Timmy, but is super annoying.” He added, “Her and Timmy both have the shared experience of being tormented by Vicky.”

Hartman finally declared, “I think Chloe's out. I think Timmy marries Tootie.” He explained, “I think Tootie loves him so much she'd do anything for him. Not that she'd be a slave, but she would do whatever it took to make him happy.”

But he speculated that she would change Timmy, too, and “make his little heart of stone turn into a heart of joy and love, because he would love nothing more than to please her, too.” Once he realized how “beautiful and sweet and caring and loving” Tootie is, he said, “Timmy would have no choice but to love her back. And I think that's what happens.” He showed the camera a drawing of adult Timmy and Tootie getting married, too.

Hartman also said that they also alluded to this fate for Timmy in the live-action The Fairly OddParents movie. That film followed a 23-year-old Timmy, played by Drake Bell. Daniella Monet starred with him as Tootie, and Timmy eventually fell for her in the film.
