The Thundermans are set to return in the brand new movie, Clash of the Thundermans, premiering on Nickelodeon International this September! Check out a first look at the film, below, courtesy of our friends over at Mentrum!
Clash of the Thundermans will premiere across Nickelodeon International's Nickelodeon Global Unlimited pan-regional feed, currently available in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), South Africa, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Portugal. on Tuesday 1st September 2026.
In Clash of the Thundermans, when Chloe develops a destructive new superpower, the Hero League orders her to an elite boarding school for superheroes to learn control of her abilities. Faced with the prospect of sending Chloe away for years, the Thundermans split apart, with Phoebe, Barb and Billy taking her into hiding. Max, Hank, and Nora track their rogue family members, until the two factions face off against each other in a full-on battle for the Thundermans’ future.
The official logline for Clash of the Thundermans reads:
Chloe's new energy powers split the Thundermans over whether to train her at home or send her to a secret hero school. But when the school's dean unveils a dangerous plan, the family reunites to save Chloe and save the town.

During Hank's inauguration, a Replicator attacks and Chloe's enerkinesis breaks out. Kickbutt wants to send Chloe to a secret superschool, but half of the family wants to train her at home, and then uses her new power to destroy the living room. Phoebe defeats those who come for Chloe and they escape. After the failure and family turmoil, Chloe surrenders. Cognita hatches an evil plan. Chloe is rescued, the villain is stopped. Phoebe refuses the presidency to stay with Max. Max secretly escapes, telling Phoebe to become president while he becomes a guardian angel.
Nickelodeon Romania:
Hank is about to be included in the Hero Gala when the Replicator attacks. After the family defeats him, Chloe discovers her new power. Cognita invites her to a secret school for gifted children, and the family argues about whether or not to send her. When Chloe loses control of her powers, she arrives at the school, where Cognita reveals her evil plan to control the students and destroy Metroburg. The family rescues Chloe, and in the end Max secretly leaves, leaving Phoebe in charge.
Nickelodeon Poland:
Hank Thunderman is about to be inducted into the Hall of Heroes, but the ceremony is interrupted by a Replicator attack. Chloe releases energy, revealing her new powers. President Kickbutt introduces the family to Cognita, the dean of a secret school for gifted children, and instructs them to send Chloe there. Phoebe, Barb, and Billy want Chloe homeschooled, while Max, Hank, and Nora prefer her to attend school. A quarrel ensues, tearing the family apart, forcing them to reunite once again to save Metroburg.
And Nickelodeon France:
Hank Thunderman is about to be admitted to the Hall of Heroes when the Replicator attacks. Chloe reveals her telekinetic powers. President [Kickbutt] takes them to meet Cognita, the super-dean of the League of Heroes' Top Secret School for Gifted Superheroes, to enroll Chloe, but Phoebe, Barbra, and Billy want to train her at home. Cognita wants to destroy Metroburg. Phoebe is offered the presidency but refuses. Max protects people from the shadows.
Ariel Winter (Modern Family, Sofia the First) joins returning cast members Kira Kosarin as Phoebe Thunderman, Jack Griffo as Max Thunderman, Maya Le Clark as Chloe Thunderman, Addison Riecke as Nora Thunderman, Diego Velazquez as Billy Thunderman, Chris Tallman as Hank Thunderman and Rosa Blasi as Barb Thunderman. Winter will play Cognita.
Filming for Clash of the Thundermans took place in Vancouver, including at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus, during August 2025.
At the time of posting, a U.S. airdate for Clash of the Thundermans is still be to announced, however, the film is expected to air on Nickelodeon and Paramount+.
Clash of the Thundermans is locally titled "A Thunderman-család - Szétszakadás, földindulás" in Hungary, "Confruntarea din familia Thundermans" in Romania, "Starcie Grzmotomocnych" in Poland, and "Le Choc des Thunderman" in France.
The Thundermans premiered on Nickelodeon in October 2013 and wrapped its four-season run in 2018, ranking as the number-one series across all TV among Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11. Created and executive produced by three-time Emmy Award-winner Jed Spingarn, the scripted half-hour series follows superhero twins with opposite personalities, Phoebe and Max Thunderman, as they navigate their way through school, friends and a family of extraordinary superheroes, all while keeping their true identities a secret. The show has seen a resurgence following its 4Q21 launch on streaming, where it quickly became the top title across all SVOD among Kids 6-11; and has continued to rank among the top titles with Kids 6-11.
The Thundermans Return movie premiered in 2024 to stellar ratings, ranking as the number-one entertainment telecast for the year to date in Live+3 across all cable among Kids 6-11. It reached 1.6 million Total Viewers throughout its premiere weekend across airings on Nickelodeon and Nick At Nite (4 telecasts). The Thundermans Return follows twins Phoebe and Max who are enjoying their superhero lifestyle in a new city, but when one ‘save’ goes awry, the Thundermans are sent back to Hiddenville.
Building on the success of The Thundermans Return, Nickelodeon ordered spin-off series The Thundermans: Undercover, which debuted in 2025. The spinoff series follows Phoebe and Max, who are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the seaside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe along to develop her superhero talent. The show also stars Daran Norris as “Thunderford,” as well as new cast members Kinley Cunningham as “Booch” and Nathan Broxton as “Jinx.”
The Thundermans, The Thundermans Return and The Thundermans: Undercover also features Dana Snyder as the voice of “Dr. Colosso”.
Jed Spingarn, Sean W. Cunningham and Marc Dworkin (The Thundermans Return, The Thundermans: Undercover) return to write and executive produce the movie. Kosarin and Griffo also executive produce, along with Richard Bullock. Trevor Kirschner directs and serves as co-executive producer.
