The Brazilian actor, voice actor and dubbing director Ettore Zuim sadly passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026. He was 66.

Zuim voiced antagonist Fire Lord Ozai in the Brazilian-Portuguese dub of the third season the Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. He also served as the dubbing director for the season, entitled "Book 3: Fire".
Zuim revisited the Avatar universe by voicing Varrik in the Brazilian-Portuguese dub of Avatar's sequel series, The Legend of Korra, in which he also served as the show's dubbing-director across all four seasons.
Zuim's additional credits include being the Brazilian voice of Christian Bale and Owen Wilson, including Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy and the Batman: Arkham games. He also voiced Hercules in Disney’s Hercules, Prince Charming in Shrek, Dracule Mihawk in One Piece, Yakko Warner in Animaniacs, Pongo in 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Jon Arbuckle in Garfield and Friends, Groundskeeper Willie Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons, Stan Marsh in South Park, Scooter in The Muppets and many more.
The cause of Zuim's death has not yet been reported, but it is public knowledge that in 2023, he was diagnosed with Peripheral Arterial Obstructive Disease.
