Nick Announces Call For Entries For The 2015-2016 Nickelodeon Writing Program

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, has announced that they are looking for entrants for the networks 16th annual Nickelodeon International Writing Program (2015 – 2016)!

The Nickelodeon Writing Program, which receives over 1,400 applications each year, is one of the best in the biz, and offers aspiring television writers, with diverse backgrounds and experiences, the amazing opportunity to hone their skills while writing for Nickelodeon's live action and animation shows. Participants will have hands-on interaction with executives writing spec scripts and pitching story ideas. For the second year running, Nickelodeon will also be looking to unearth new writing talent internationally in 2015.

The Nick Writing Program 2015 – 2016 submission period is now open and closes at midnight on Saturday 28th February 2015! This includes the Domestic and the International branches of the Program.

The Program, established in 2000, was developed to broaden Nickelodeon's outreach efforts, provides a salaried position for up to one year based in Los Angeles, California (Domestic) and a salaried position for up to six months based the UK (International).

While in the Program, writers meet Nickelodeon's series creators, work in writers' rooms, attend storyboard pitches, show tapings and more. Each participant in the Nickelodeon Writing Program also joins an alumni group of people who have gone on to hold freelance and staff positions at various networks like Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Disney Channel, Kids' WB!, ABC, FOX, PBS, Cartoon Network and the CW. Notable graduates include creators, co-executive producers and writers Jonathan Butler and Gabriel Garza of Nickelodeon's upcoming live-action comedy series "Bella and the Bulldogs".

Entrants to the 2015-2016 Nickelodeon Writing Program must be aged 18 years or older. If you have previously applied to the Program and have not been selected, you are welcomed and encouraged to apply again. However, for consideration in the 2015-2016 Writing Program, you are required to submit a different spec script for each new submission period.

Nickelodeon will notify each semi-finalists of their 2015-2016 Writing Program by Monday 31st August 2015, with finalists being notified by Tuesday 15th September 2015. Chosen writers will be notified no later than Wednesday 30th September 2015 (Notification dates are subject to change).

Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand Unveils 2015 Programming Highlights

Behold, a historic event of historical proportions!

Nickelodeon Australia has announced in their "2015 on Nickelodeon" trailer, below, that 2015 will be a 12 months wide, 365 days tall, year long Nickelodeon event on Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand, stuffed full with the premieres of tons of brand-new Nickelodeon shows and lots of brand-new episodes of established hits! It doesn't get any bigger than 2015!



As part of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand's 2015 programming highlights, Nickelodeon will start to premiere and show the brand-new Nick shows:

Nickelodeon Australia also recently announced that the adventure reality series "Camp Orange" is back for its 11th year, and that Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand will start to air "The Legend of Korra - Book 4: Balance", the fourth and final season of Nickelodeon's hit original animated series (Nicktoon), in 2015!

Nickelodeon UK To Premiere New Show "Max & Shred" On Monday 19th January 2015

A Snowboard Pro Gets a Brand New Bro in Nickelodeon UK's Brand-New Show!

Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, has announced the exciting Nick UK news in their new trailer/promo that Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon and Breakthrough Entertainment's brand-new live-action buddy-comedy series "Max & Shred" from Monday 19th January 2015 (exact transmission (TX) time to be announced)!

"Max & Shred" chronicles the hilarious and unlikely friendship between Max Asher (Jonny Gray), a celebrity snowboarder, and Alvin "Shred" Ackerman (Jake Goodman, "Life with Boys"), a science whiz-kid, who become roommates and instant "bros" when Max moves to Colorado to train for the Winter Cup. The two boys must work to become friends and learn to navigate the trials of teenage life from completely opposite points of view. It's gonna be siiiiick!

This season on "Max & Shred", the boys will find themselves in hilarious situations that everyday teens' experience. From liking the same girl to navigating the crazy halls of high school to fighting over who gets a new room, Max and Shred may approach life differently but in the end, they always have each other's back.

"Max & Shred" (26 X 30) is created by writing partners Ben MacMillan and Josh Greenbaum whose credits include CW's "Swordfighting", CBS's "Homeland Insecurity" and the Paramount feature film "The Mascot". The series is executive produced by George Doty IV who is no stranger to the Nickelodeon family having written and co-executive produced some of the networks biggest hit shows including "iCarly", "Victorious" and the beloved buddy-comedy series "Drake & Josh".

Nickelodeon And Activision Announce "SpongeBob HeroPants" Video Game

Activision Publishing, Inc. and Nickelodeon are taking you under the sea by teaming up with global superstar SpongeBob SquarePants and his Bikini Bottoms friends in "SpongeBob HeroPants", a brand-new video game based on Nickelodeon's hit-animated TV series! This action platformer will be released for the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system, PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system and PlayStation TV in the USA on Tuesday 3rd February 2015, three days before Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Animations' "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" hits theaters, and will arrive in Europe during March 2015!

All is not well in Bikini Bottom following the events of Paramount Pictures' "The SpongeBob™ Movie: Sponge Out of Water", the new animated/live-action feature film hitting theaters worldwide from February 2015. SpongeBob's dreams are coming to life and altering space and time beneath the waves. SpongeBob must join forces with his friends to unlock their hidden abilities and put back the pieces of his shattered cartoon psyche. Along the way they'll visit alternate forms of Bikini Bottom as it is warped by SpongeBob's mind into prehistoric, war zone and candy-coated versions of the town.

"SpongeBob HeroPants" is an action game with a focus on platforming, exploration and light puzzles and combat. Each of its six playable characters – SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs and Plankton – can morph into their unique super-powered champion as seen in "Sponge Out of Water" - The Invincibubble (SpongeBob), Mr. Superawesomeness (Patrick Star), The Rodent (Sandy Cheeks), Sour Note (Squidward Tentacles), Sir Pinch-A-Lot (Mr. Krabs) and Plank-Ton (Sheldon J. Plankton) - to solve challenges, unlock new areas and defeat SpongeBob's crazy imagination. The full adventure features boss battles, upgradeable skills and a treasure trove of hidden items to unearth. It also includes four-person local drop-in/drop-out cooperative multiplayer on Xbox 360. "SpongeBob HeroPants" is rated PEGI 7 in Europe.

"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" will be released in theatres in the USA on Friday 6th February 2015 and in Digital 3D and 2D in cinemas across the UK on Friday 27th March 2015!
