Nickelodeon Announces Title And Voice Cast Of "Hey Arnold!" TV Movie
Hey Arnold! is going to the jungle! Nickelodeon has confirmed that their upcoming Hey Arnold! TV movie will, in fact, he called Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, as creator Craig Bartlett hinted on his Instagram account earlier this year, reports The A.V. Club!
More importantly, though, the network has confirmed that 19 of the show's original voice actors will return for the project, including the voices of Helga (Francesca Smith), Phoebe (Anndi McAfee), Harold (Justin Shenkarow), Rhonda (Olivia Hack), Olga (Nika Futterman), Mr. Simmons (Dan Butler, Frasier), Grandpa Phil (Dan Castellaneta, The Simpsons), Grandma Gertrude (Tress MacNeille, Rugrats), Stella (Antoinette Stella), Eduardo (Carlos Alazraqui, Rocko's Modern Life), Ernie (Dom Irrera), Big Bob Pataki (Maurice LaMarche, Futurama), Miriam (Kath Soucie, Rugrats, The Real Ghostbusters), Big Patty (Danielle Judovits), Coach Wittenberg (James Belushi, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters), the Stoop Kid (Danny Cooksey), and Miles, who's voiced by Bartlett himself.
Lane Toran and Jamil Smith, who voiced Arnold and Gerald, will return as well. They won't be voicing their original characters, though, but lending their voices to other characters while Mad Men's Mason Vale Cotton and Game Shakers' Benjamin "L'il P-Nut" Flores Jr. take over Arnold and Gerald, respectively. New, younger actors, some of who already star on other Nickelodeon properties, will also voice other characters like Eugene, Stinky, and Sid.
The movie's villain, Lasombra, will be voiced by Alfred Molina. Though the Spider-Man 2 actor is new to the Hey Arnold! universe, Lasombra isn't, with the river pirate and treasure hunter previously popping up on a pivotal episode called "The Journal," where he was voiced by Brian Doyle Murray (The Middle), the brother of Bill Murray (Ghostbusters).
Hey Arnold! ended its original run in 2004. Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie will make its debut in 2017.
