Nickelodeon Latin America Premieres 'Tainá and the Amazon's Guardians'
Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) today, Monday 2nd March 2020, premiered Nickelodeon Brazil's (Brasil) popular CG-animated series Tainá and the Amazon's Guardians (Tainá e os Guardiões da Amazônia)!
Co-produced by Nickelodeon and Sincrocine Produções, with investments from BNDES (Procult) and Artigo 39 da Ancine, Tainá e os Guardiões da Amazônia (26 episodes) is an animated adaptation of the hit trilogy of Brazilian family films, and follows a Indian girl named Tainá, who, together with her friends, protects the Amazon rain forest and its fauna and flora.
The co-production reimagines the story of the three feature-length live-action movies for a new audience of children aged between 3-to-6 years old. The trilogy has won 23 national and international awards and has being shown on TVs in more than 40 countries around the world.
Tainá e os Guardiões da Amazônia follows Tainá, her pet monkey Catu, king vulture Pepe, and a little hedgehog named Suri, who enjoy going on fun adventures as they explore and learn more about the world's largest rainforest and its extraordinary diversity. The series aims to encourage children to respect diversity and cultural differences, and their abilities and limitations, bringing a message of respect, friendship and care for nature in each episode.
In the heart of the Amazon Forest, Tainá and her friends live on top of the Great Tree - the mother of all trees. When in danger, the forest animals ask for help from their Indian hero by saying “Cru-Cru”. The message is then passed from one animal to another, echoing through the vastness of the forest until Tainá gets hears the cry for help, and uses the power of the Blue Arrow to start her adventure.
Always in a playful and humorous way, the Guardians of the Amazon never fail to respond to the request for help, even if it means coming face-to-face with strong currents, a herd of jaws or even a gigantic coiled sucuri. After all, they are Kirimbau, in whose language, Taina means brave.
Tainá e os Guardiões da Amazônia (Tainá and the Amazon's Guardians) was recently nominated in the "Prémio Quirino à Melhor Série de Animação Ibero-americana" ("Quirino Award for the Best Ibero-American Animation Series") category of the 2020 edition of the Prémios Quirino de Animação Ibero-Americana Awards (Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards).

YTV Canada is bringing “Twin Magic” to The Substitute with WWE Superstars The Bella Twins tag-teaming to go undercover at Las Palmas Middle School in Covina, Calif. Nikki and Brie Bella guest star in the premiere of The Substitute on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. (ET/PT), following a new episode of Henry Danger at 6, on YTV, with new episodes featuring a star-studded lineup of celebrities airing regularly.
Using full costumes and prosthetics to hide her identity, Nikki Bella is transformed into three completely unrecognizable characters, and for the first time the Substitute gets some extra help as her sister Brie Bella directs from the control room.
Together they prank students as Nikki plays an eccentric gym teacher who brings her dog-training techniques to the field, an awkward speech teacher preoccupied by her upcoming maid of honor duties and a career counselor obsessed with clowns.
The Substitute features celebrities who are transformed by a team of Hollywood special effects artists to go undercover as a substitute, surprising unsuspecting kids in schools, camps and other locations. After a day full of ridiculous mayhem, the substitute reveals themselves and the featured school receives a donation for $25,000.

Additional guest stars set to appear in upcoming episodes of The Substitute are Rico & Raini Rodriguez, Asher Angel, Shaun White, JoJo Siwa, Johnny Orlando, Kel Mitchell, and Cooper Barnes. The season previewed in October with guest star and international superstar John Cena, and was followed by a holiday-themed episode guest starring Grammy Award-winning artist and performer NE-YO in November. The new season of The Substitute premiered Friday, January 31, 2020 on Nickelodeon USA.
The Substitute is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation. Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman and Todd Hurvitz (Punk’d), serve as executive producers, with Hurvitz also serving as the showrunner. Jessica Brown, Nickelodeon’s Vice President of Current Series, also serves as an executive producer.
