LOS ANGELES--October 19, 2021--The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, presented by Kinecta Federal Credit Union, is back on the beach, with a record-breaking $2.5 million goal to help children with special needs and students succeed. Supported by Presenting Sponsor Kinecta and more than 100 companies, the event will feature live performances, celebrities and famed athletes including Brooke Burke, Sugar Ray Leonard and Meb Keflezighi in support of children. Side Hustle star Mitchell Berg will also be at the event.

“Kids can realize their true potential when given the right tools. And through the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, we aim to give our children with special needs programs that enrich their lives, and provide their peers with the opportunities they need to succeed,” said Michael Greenberg, founder of the Walk. “Our latest plans include a world-class Friendship Foundation Campus that will soon provide college-based learning, job training and creative opportunities so that young adults with special needs can join the work force, opening up new opportunities for these individuals around the world. Our generous sponsors, ambassadors and Walk participants have all played a role in the Friendship Foundation’s success—and I’m confident that our event is about to have its best year ever in support of these wonderful kids and our amazing students.”

Donations from the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk support The Friendship Foundation and education foundations for public schools. The Friendship Foundation offers children with special needs one-on-one peer visits and social recreational activities, from online gatherings to summer camps, sporting event outings and classes such as music, yoga, cooking, art and drama. The event also helps enhance schools, reduce class sizes, update labs, libraries and facilities as well as protect teachers’ jobs. This year, the Skechers Foundation’s national scholarship program will donate a portion of the proceeds to students with financial need and proven excellence in academics, athletics and leadership, and has awarded $620,000 to date.

“The impact this Walk has on our children is profound and wide-reaching. We’ve been a proud sponsor of this event for years, and we are so enthusiastic about participating as the Presenting Sponsor this year because we’ve seen firsthand how it helps more than 50,000 children in our community,” said Keith Sultemeier, chief executive officer of Kinecta. “All of us at Kinecta know how difficult this past year has been for so many, and we encourage anyone who can take part and help their neighbors, to do so on Sunday. This investment in our kids will change their lives.”

Historically California’s largest event for children with special needs and education, the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk has raised more than $17 million to date for public schools, scholarships and the Friendship Foundation—breaking donation records since its 2009 launch. Prior to last year’s virtual event, annual attendance had reached 17,000 registrants.

Performers at this year’s event will include Young Selena singer Madison Taylor Baez and Dance Moms’ GiaNia Paolantonio dancing with He’s All That actor Gabe DeGuzman. The Walk is also being supported virtually worldwide by celebrities and legendary athletes such as Tony Romo, Rusty Wallace, Jamie Redknapp and Brooke Henderson, as well as numerous YouTube and Disney network stars.

Walkers can register in person at the event, sign up online at skechersfriendshipwalk.com and live stream the 13th annual Walk at the site on Sunday, October 24th at 9am PST. Participants can also follow the event on Facebook (facebook.com/SKECHERSFriendshipWalk), Instagram (instagram.com/skechersp2pwalk) and Twitter (twitter.com/SkechersP2PWalk).

In addition to Presenting Sponsor Kinecta Federal Credit Union, the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk thanks all of its sponsors, including The CET Foundation, Nickelodeon, Steel Sports, Steel Partners, McCarthy Building Companies, Vertra, Dakine, Dreamworks Animation, The MBS Group, Continental Development, United Legwear & Apparel, Chevron, Moose Toys, Petco Love, Ross Stores, simplehuman and many more very generous companies who have helped us make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many children.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's Character Designer is Changing Hitboxes and Hurtboxes Today - And Is Asking for Your Help

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is undergoing some changes here post launch that aim to improve the overall experience. A recent patch was implemented to address things like Michelangelo's neutral air and its ability to overwhelm players, as well as make other fixes.

Now the game's character designer and programmer, Thaddeus Crews, has taken to Twitter to let fans know that more changes are en route. This time, the developer is focusing on making hitboxes and hurtboxes fall more in line with the visual of their attack, and you can help with this process.

"Today I'll be focusing on making existing hitboxes/hurtboxes more accurate to their visuals, feel free to reply with some of the most egregious examples that're in the game now!" writes Thaddeus on Twitter.

In layman's terms, hitboxes and hurtboxes are essentially invisible spaces on screen that are assigned to every move and character that, when they interact, cause contact to be made. The hitbox is the active space for attacks and the hurtbox is the part that can be struck by said attacks.

Oftentimes in fighting games, the visual animation of the move doesn't fully align with the hitbox or hurtbox. You'll see instances where something like Ryu's crouching medium kick in Street Fighter will see a good portion of his foot go through the opponent until he inches close enough for the hitbox to actually make contact with the opponent's hurtbox.

Thaddeus is referring to this behavior for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and is aiming to make it so that hitboxes and hurtboxes better line up with the actual visual of the attack. As you can see in the banner, one Twitter follower already sent an example of one hitbox that could use tweaking.

We see that Danny Phantom's up kick passes right through Lucy Loud when it looks like it should be hitting her.

If you know of more examples similar to this one, be sure to tweet them at the developer so that they can be altered and improved.

Update (10/22) - Captain Man will deliver a very special message to Swellview on Saturday, Oct. 23!:

Behind the Dangerverse Promo:

From J-14:

Exclusive First LookThe ‘Danger Force’ Cast Teases ‘Action-Packed’ Season 2 Premiere With Jace Norman’s Return

Nickelodeon’s Danger Force is back with a huge season 2 premiere event, and J-14 has an exclusive first look! The highly anticipated second season is set to kick off with a four-part event, starting Saturday, October 23, that includes the return of Jace Norman as Henry Hart/Kid Danger.

Throughout the four-part premiere, the Danger Force — Captain Man (played by Cooper Barnes), Schwoz (played by Michael D. Cohen), Chapa (played by Havan Flores), Miles (played by Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (played by Dana Heath) and Bose (played by Luca Luhan) — is faced with the return of villain Rick Twitler (played by David Blue). Using his evil plan, Rick control’s Mika’s mind through a virtual reality game and attempts to use her powers as a way to destroy the internet.

“I’m so excited for the fans to see all the amazing stunts and action we all prepared for the launch of season two of Danger Force,” Dana tells J-14 exclusively ahead of the premiere. “Of all the ways we could have started a new season, this is probably the most action packed!”

In our exclusive clip, the Danger Force starts to realize that something is different about Mika. As Miles tells his fellow superheroes, “She’s acting kind of sus.” Subsequently, Bose and Chapa agree, adding variations of “so sus” and “mad sus,” which leads into the meaning of “sus” after Captain Man is visibly confused.

“Yeah, sus. Suspicious … like when you tell people you’re under 40,” Miles hilariously explains. Captain Man declares, “Alright, next person who says ‘sus’ is putting a dollar in the ‘Sus Jar.'”

Naturally, the Danger Force has tons of jars, which Captain Man explains is because they “keep over-slinging that stupid internet slang.” The kids aren’t the only ones who have a jar. Bose notes that there’s a “Henry Jar” because Captain Man “couldn’t stop talking about Henry.”

“Hey, you guys made that one,” the elder hero hits back. “And there’s nothing sus about talking about Henry!”

Following their minor argument about slang terms and various jars, Mika returns carrying a vat of rocket fuel, which is — of course — sus to the rest of the Danger Force. While it’s unclear exactly why or how Henry’s return will fit into the four-part special, this isn’t the first time Jace made an appearance on Danger Force. During season 1, he starred in an episode titled “Return of the Kid.”

“It was really cool to see him and [costar] Cooper [Barnes] just immediately connect like they had never been apart. It was really, really funny to have them together on the set,” Havan told J-14 about Jace’s time on set. “Every once in a while, he’d give us like these short little like tips of just how to make funnier or more interesting in your line.”

The Danger Force four-part season 2 premiere kicks off on Nickelodeon on Saturday, October 23, at 8 p.m. ET.

From BSCkids:

Mitchell Berg Talks Side Hustle “Scare Bear” Episode And More – Exclusive Interview

We were happy to speak with Mitchell Berg from Side Hustle on Nickelodeon where he talks to us about the upcoming Halloween episode “Scare Bear” on October 23rd. It is always great to see these special episodes and Fisher is going to bring a stuffed bear to life!

Evil genius scientist Mitchell Berg delivers a spooktacular performance as “Fisher” in the upcoming Halloween special. In this episode, the Side Hustle kids decide to open a haunted house and Mitchell uses unorthodox technology to bring a stuffed bear to life. The gang then have to work together to stop the Frankenbear created by Berg before it’s too late. This is a hilarious episode fans don’t want to miss!

BSCKids: Hi Mitchell, great to hear about the new “Scare Bear” Side Hustle Halloween episode. What do you think makes this episode different?

Mitchell Berg: We always have a lot going on at Nickelodeon’s Side Hustle, but “Scare Bear” is even more action packed than usual. It was super intense to film. There are multiple gags and mishaps in every scene, and a lot of people in each one. We also have really creative costumes, hair, and makeup. Get ready, cause it’s gonna be awesome!

Tell us do you have anything in common with Fisher?

It’s funny because sometimes my Instagram feed shows up in the story lines. I posted about surfing the weekend they were writing the season finale for Season 1. Suddenly Fisher is practicing surfing in the driveway to impress Lex (played by Jules LeBlanc)! But Fisher and his sister Presley (played by Jayden Bartels) live in Pennsylvania. So, I guess he’s surfing in Lake Erie? In another Instagram post I have a drill in my hand while fixing the freezer. There’s a whole episode where Fisher, Alan (played by Kurt Ela), and Tedward (played by Daryl Brown) try fixing the fridge and end up destroying the entire kitchen. Fisher uses the same drill I had in the photo!

Did anything funny happen while filming the “Scare Bear” episode behind the scenes?

I am dressed as Doc Brown from Back to the Future in the episode, and I had to get all the hair and makeup done right when I got on set because things were super crazy that week. I had to go to virtual school class while wearing the wig! Then, when we filmed the part where Fisher makes Lex’s stuffed animal bear into a monster. There was a lot of wind for special effects. The wind kept blowing the hair into my mouth and I had gloves on so I couldn’t easily wipe it out. That scene was complicated to film as we kept stopping to pull the hair down, but it was worth it. It turned out so great and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

If you could have any of the Fisher inventions in real life which one would it be and why?

I would like to have the machine Fisher made for the Dog Wed-DING episode that translates dog barks into English. Then I could hear what my dog Penny Lane is thinking all the time.

Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Science isn’t my favorite subject!

If you could guest star on any other Nickelodeon show which one would it be?

I’m hoping to have the opportunity to appear as Lil’ Dynomite on Danger Force again! Being on that show as a guest is always a blast. A crossover of Side Hustle and Danger Force would be insane!

Why should we all tune in to watch “Scare Bear?”

It’s a Halloween episode that doesn’t disappoint! If you love Halloween, haunted houses, or if you have ever imagined your stuffed animals coming to life, then watch Nickelodeon at 8:30/7:30 central this Saturday night, October 23. You will love every minute.

Where can we find you on social media?

Please connect with me on Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, and Facebook. I’m @themitchellberg and I really enjoy hearing from you on social media.

Get into the spirit by watching Mitchell Berg in the Side Hustle “Scare Bear” Halloween episode on October 23. Thanks for speaking with us!
