Nickelodeon Cancels 'The Casagrandes'

Nickelodeon has reportedly canceled the network's hit animated series The Casagrandes after three seasons despite rave reviews and loyal followings. The series follows the dynamics of a multi-generational Latino family that lives under one roof.


The third and final season of The Casagrandes is slated to air on Nickelodeon this year. Althgough the series isn't being renewed for a fourth season, characters from The Casagrandes will continue to appear on The Loud House, the show it was spun-off from, a network spokesperson told Axios.

The show debuted in 2019 and will air a total of 60 episodes by the end of its run.

The Casagrandes centers on Ronnie Anne Santiago (Izabella Alvarez), who moved to Great Lakes City with her brother Bobby (Carlos PenaVega) and her mother Maria (Sumalee Montano). She is now living near her extended family, including her grandparents Hector (Ruben Garfias) and Rosa (Sonia Manzano), her aunt Frida (Roxana Ortega) and uncle Carlos (Carlos Alazraqui), and her cousins Carlota, C.J., Carl, and Carlitos. Rubiner is executive producer and Puga serves as co-executive producer. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz is a consulting producer.

The Casagrandes stars Izabella Alvarez (Westworld) as 11-year-old Ronnie Annie, Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush) as her brother Bobby and Sumalee Montano (Nashville) as her mom Maria. Alvarez, PenaVega and Montano bring these characters to life, alongside: Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko's Modern Life, The Fairly OddParents, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years) as Carlos, “Tio;” Roxana Ortega (The League) as Frida, “Tia;” Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids) as Carlota; Jared Kozak (Born this Way) as CJ; Alex Cazares (The Boss Baby: Back in Business) as Carl; Ruben Garfias (East Los High) as Hector, “Abuelo;” and Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) as Rosa, “Abuela.” Additionally, Eugenio Derbez (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) gives voice to Dr. Santiago, a physician living and working in Peru, who is Ronnie Anne and Bobby’s father.

Ronnie Anne’s new apartment building holds new friends and neighbors, including: Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) as Stanley Chang; Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as Becca Chang; Leah Mei Gold (Legion) as 12-year-old Sid Chang, Ronnie Anne’s new friend; and Lexi Sexton as Adelaide Chang, Sid’s 6-year-old little sister.

The Casagrandes launched on Nickelodeon in October 2019. The show was nominated for Outstanding Children's Animated Series and won Outstanding Main Title for an Animated Program at the 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards. Ronnie Anne and her family were introduced in The Loud House. Both series have been translated into successful graphic novel and podcast series. The Loud House and The Casagrandes are available to stream on Paramount+.

Belding, Michigan – BelleHarvest, a grower-owned distributor of fresh apples in Michigan is prepared to take on the Marvel of Produce as an exhibitor at Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure conference and expo, March 3-5, 2022 in Orlando, Florida.

Showcasing their retail programs, BelleHarvest will have all PAWS on deck in booth 208, exhibiting their PAW Patrol packaging in partnership with Nickelodeon. BelleHarvest’s PAW Patrol branded apple pouches are packed with three kid-approved varieties – Gotta Fly Gala, Heroic Honeycrisp and Fired Up Fuji. Perfect for pups on the go!

“Our PAW Patrol program delivers the spirit of superhero marvel with each and every apple,” shared BelleHarvest CEO, Milt Fuehrer. “We look forward to showcasing these packages and discussing the program with retail attendees.”

In addition to the PAW Patrol program, BelleHarvest also will showcase their Sustainable Packaging program. Built of paperboard, this unique packaging is 100 percent recyclable, a packaging hero among single-use mortals. The paperboard carton effectively prevents apples from bruising or shuffling, providing a dense layer of protection.


The gable handle on the carton allows for quick grab and go accessibility, which is increasingly important to consumers who want to quickly get in and out of the store.

First Look: Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Transformers: EarthSpark' Globally During Fall 2022

Nickelodeon and Hasbro’s Entertainment One (eOne) announced in February that have partnered to co-produce an original animated Transformers series (26 half-hour episodes), based on the iconic global property. In the action-comedy series, a new species of Transformers must find their place and purpose among Autobots, Decepticons, and the human family that adopts them. The series will premiere exclusively on Nickelodeon in the U.S. in 2022 before rolling out internationally.






The all-new animated Transformers: EarthSpark series is executive produced by Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Nicole Dubuc (Transformers: Rescue Bots) and developed and co-executive produced by Dale Malinowski (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the series is developed for television by Spinelli and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Senior Director, Current Series and Development, Animation. Production will be overseen for Nickelodeon by Conrad Montgomery, Vice President, Current Series, Animation and for eOne by Mikiel Houser, Director of TV Development. The series is being animated by Icon Creative Studio in Canada.

Nickelodeon to Air 'Peppa’s Club' TV Event in May 2022

Peppa Pig returns in a brand new television event airing on Nickelodeon this Spring!


Coming off a full year of US travels, Peppa will soon be welcoming all little piggies to Peppa’s Club.

Premiering May 2022 on the Nick Jr. preschool block on Nickelodeon, the Peppa’s Club episode arc will include a celebratory 4-part TV special featuring Peppa and her pals using their brand-new clubhouse to play imaginative adventures like detective, shop and more.

To celebrate the new special, new Peppa Pig toys will be available in stores very soon!

Available Aug. 1, 2022, from Hasbro, the Peppa Pig Kids Only Clubhouse set lets little ones reenact their favorite moments from the show and dream up their own scenes to play out with Peppa and her friend Rebecca. When the figurines are placed on the clubhouse’s hotspot, the set comes alive with real sounds and phrases from the show.

The purple and teal clubhouse’s backdrop is interchangeable, so Peppa and Rebecca can play in different places. Simply flip the backdrop and suddenly, they’re in a sweet little bakery, snacking on their favorite treats. With moveable furniture and a fun slide attachment, there are plenty of opportunities for your kid’s imagination to come alive with this set. The Peppa Pig Kids-Only Clubhouse is intended for kids ages 3 and up, and will retail for $49.99.

For even more Peppa-inspired fun, Hasbro will also release the Peppa Pig All Around Peppa’s Town Playset on Aug. 1. Retailing for $69.99, this set has so much to offer fans of the show, giving kids the opportunity to imagine much of Peppa’s world right in their own play spaces.

Kids can zoom Mummy Pig's red car around an adjustable track that takes the included Peppa figurine all around town. Rearrange the path to connect the road to visit different places like Peppa’s house, the schoolhouse, playground, and Mr. Bull’s construction site.

As kids push the car around the track, it plays different sounds, music, and phrases when it passes over each of the four sound-provoking hotspots on the track. There’s even a story narration that plays three different story-starters, prompting kids to move the car to different destinations while the story plays.

Not only can kids enjoy rearranging the track, they can also play with Peppa at all of the different locations included. She can swing on the swings or bounce on the see-saw at the playground, have a lesson at the schoolhouse table, and more. This playset is truly so versatile. Little piggies everywhere are gonna love it.
