Peri Gilpin Set To Reprise Roz Role In Paramount+'s 'Frasier' Sequel Series

Roz is back!

Peri Gilpin is returning to Frasier-verse as a guest star on the Paramount+ sequel series.

In the original series set in Seattle, Roz Doyle was the titular character’s producer on his Dr. Frasier Crane Show on KACL-AM. When viewers last saw the character in the series finale, she becomes station manager. Her role in the new series is as yet unknown.

From writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli, the multi-camera comedy continuation is executive produced by Kelsey Grammer who is reprising his signature character, psychiatrist-turned-radio host Frasier Crane. The sequel sees Frasier (Grammer) off to a different city — Boston! — with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge, and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.

The return of Gilpin follows the reveal that Bebe Neuwirth would return as Lilith Sternin in the sequel. The character of Lilith originated on the hit NBC comedy Cheers alongside Frasier, where the couple met, married and welcomed a son, Frederick. She also played Lilith in the Cheers spinoff, Frasier.

Frederick is at the center of the sequel and will be portrayed by Jack Cutmore-Scott. He is described as a nuanced combination of his father and grandfather. Years ago, Freddy rejected following in his father’s footsteps—dropping out of college to become a fireman—and he’s never looked back until now when recent troubles have left him with no one to turn to in his life. If they can overcome past differences, Freddy and Frasier might finally have a chance to repair old wounds.

The new series also stars Anders Keith as David, son of Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves). Pierce opted not to return for the sequel.

Previously announced cast also includes Nicholas Lyndhurst (Only Fools and Horses, Goodnight Sweetheart, New Tricks) as Frasier’s old college buddy-turned-university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salguerio as Freddy’s roommate, Eve.

As previously announced, James Burrows — co-creator of Cheers who directed nearly all series episodes and episodes of the original Frasier— directed the first two episodes.

Frasier hails from writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli, who executive produce with Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions.

Harvey Guillén Reprising Cousin Blobbin Role in ‘The Thundermans Return’

Harvey Guillén (What We Do In The Shadows) is set to reprise the role of Cousin Blobbin in the Nickelodeon film The Thundermans Return, a follow-up of the network’s hit comedy series The Thundermans.

The Thundermans Return will follow the superpowered family as they begin a new era of superhero crime fighting. Production on The Thundermans Return is underway.

In the movie, twins Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) and Max (Jack Griffo) are enjoying their superhero lifestyle, but when one ‘save’ goes awry, the Thundermans are sent back to Hiddenville. While Hank (Chris Tallman) and Barb (Rosa Blasi) enjoy their return, and Billy (Diego Velazquez) and Nora look forward to a normal high school life, Max and Phoebe are determined to regain their superhero status. Maya Le Clark also returns as Chloe. Dana Snyder is also expected to return as the voice of Dr. Colosso, the criminal mastermind bunny.

Guillén made his series debut in the Season 1 episode “Weekend Guest” and recurred across the show’s four seasons, becoming a fan-favorite character.

The Thundermans Return is written and executive produced by Jed Spingarn and directed by Trevor Kirschner. Kira Kosarin is executive producing. Jack Griffo is also an executive producer of the movie. Dan Cross & David Hoge also serve as executive producers. Production of the movie for Nickelodeon Studios is overseen by Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan, Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Brian Banks serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production.

Guillén is a rising star whose breakout role was in FX’s What We Do in the Shadows playing Guillermo De La Cruz, a vampire familiar whose life is changed when he discovers he’s the ancestor of fang slayer Van Helsing. With that knowledge, Guillermo is constantly toeing the line between being loyal and faithful to his manipulative vampire overlords and slaying their souls into the beyond—always in hysterical fashion.

Most recently, his voice is featured alongside Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek as Perrito, in DreamWork’s Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. Next, he can be seen in the Warner Bros. film Blue Beetle, starring opposite Xolo Maridueña, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez, which is set to release in August, as well as the upcoming Disney+ movie Alexander 2. A reimagination of Judith Viorst's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Guillén will portray the character of Claudio, a healer who helps the young titular hero take steps in the right direction. Production is underway in New Mexico.

Additional credits include Amazon’s Reacher, NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, DC’s Harley Quinn and Apple TV+’s Shape Island, among others. Guillén is repped by Innovative Artists and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman, et al.
