Monster High Celebrates Pride With Capsule Collection and Graphic Novel

Hi, Ghouls. Rainbow-striped flags are flying everywhere, which must mean it’s the best time of year: Pride Month!

At Monster High, everyone belongs, and Pride Month is a time to skelebrate and show extra love to the LGBTQIA+ community, and IDW Publishing is skelebrating with the brand new Monster High Pride 2024 graphic novel!

First, Hannah Templer (Cosmoknights) and Siobhan Keenan (Big Ethel Energy) conjure a story about expectations and role models. In "Summer Fangout", Clawdeen and Toralei are claws over tails for each other…but their summer DIY project, and a group of mischievous gnomes, is threatening the ghouls’ relationship! Meanwhile, Ghoulia is writing fan fiction and is on the verge of starting a shipping war!

Then, Megan Brown (My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies) and Bowen McCurdy (Specter Inspectors) brew a fang-tastic love story with "I Put A Spell On You". Kieran Valentine thinks love sucks. He enlists the help of his (very cute) Bite-ology partner, Spelldon Cauldronello, to create a potion that will drain him of the feeling forever. But after spending time with Spelldon, will he have the guts to follow through?

An extension of the Emmy Award-winning animated series, the super-sleuth adventure follows the Loud family as they jump into more hilarious stunts and sticky situations. When the family’s tropical getaway turns into the ultimate spy mission, Lincoln must work to uncover the hidden secrets buried in his beloved Gran-Gran Myrtle’s past.

In No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie, Lincoln and the Louds are ecstatic to welcome their new Gran-Gran, Myrtle, into the family with a tropical wedding celebration, but the festivities are cut short when an old nemesis from Myrtle's secret agent past appears on the island. After Myrtle is taken, Lincoln leads his family on the super spy mission of his dreams to save her... and the world!

New episodes of The Loud House will premiere on Nickelodeon beginning Monday, June 3, and roll out weekdays at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT, alongside premieres of the live-action spinoff series, The Really Loud House, all leading up to the debut of No Time To Spy: A Loud House Movie.

The Loud House debuted on Nickelodeon in May 2016 and centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family. As one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon with 156 episodes, the property also has been translated into a comic book series, which continues to roll out new stories, chapter books, a digital album, and a podcast, Listen Out Loud. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner. Kyle Marshall serves as co-executive producer, and Ashley Kliment-Baker is the art director.

‘Dora And The Search For Sol Dorado’ Movie Taps Jacob Rodriguez For Role of Diego

Up-and-coming actor Jacob Rodriguez (Tell Me Lies) has landed the male lead in Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado (working title), the new live-action family film being produced for Nickelodeon and Paramount+ by Nickelodeon Studios, Deadline is reporting.

With Samantha Lorraine on board for the title role, as previously announced, Rodriguez will play Diego, the adventurous and resourceful cousin of Dora, who starred in his own Dora the Explorer spin-off, Go, Diego, Go!.

Directed by Alberto Belli (Upload and Naughty Nine and Black Scorpion) from a script by JT Billings (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), the film will watch as Dora, Diego, and their new friends trek through the perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient and powerful treasure of Sol Dorado to keep it out of enemy hands.

Sol Dorado marks the second live-action feature out of the world of Dora the Explorer, on the heels of 2019’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Directed by James Bobin and starring Isabela Merced as Dora and Jeffrey Wahlberg as Diego, that film grossed over $120 million worldwide. Adam Bonnett is serving as executive producer of the new project.

Lauded for its interactive format and bilingual content spanning English and Spanish, the beloved Dora the Explorer franchise kicked off with a Nickelodeon animated series of the same same, created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner, which ran for 177 episodes across eight seasons. The show centers on Dora, a young Latina girl, who embarks on various adventures with her talking backpack and map, often accompanied by her monkey friend, Boots, among others.

One of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time, which over the years has generated billions in retail sales, Dora has also spawned the follow-up series Go, Diego, Go! and Dora and Friends: Into the City, as well as a more recent animated reboot for Paramount+ — also from Gifford and Valdes — which premiered in April and has been renewed for a second season. Nickelodeon also recently launched Dora's Recipe For Adventure, a dedicated Dora the Explorer podcast for preschoolers.

A Mexican American actor from the small agricultural town of Dinuba, California, Rodriguez can next be seen in a recurring role in the second season of Hulu’s Tell Me Lies, which is set to premiere this fall. Among his other upcoming projects is Hal & Harper, the buzzy, independently produced TV series from rising filmmaker Cooper Raiff.
