Rejoice In the Holiday Spirit at the 'National Christmas Tree Lighting', Hosted By Four-Time Grammy Nominated Country Music Artist Mickey Guyton, Friday, Dec. 20 on CBS

Four-time GRAMMY® nominated country music artist Mickey Guyton will return this holiday season as host of the NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING, a CBS special broadcasting Friday, Dec. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*. For a FREE trial of Paramount+, visit ParamountPlus.com.

This beloved American tradition, presented by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, will feature musical performances of holiday classics by Adam Blackstone, Muni Long, Stephen Sanchez, Trombone Shorty, James Taylor, The War And Treaty and Trisha Yearwood. Host Guyton will also perform. In addition to the official lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse at The White House and President’s Park in Washington, D.C., the event will include performances by Airmen of Note, one of six musical ensembles that form the U.S. Air Force Band. This year’s ceremony and official lighting will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5.

First celebrated in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge, the National Christmas Tree Lighting continues to inspire people everywhere to pause to enjoy cherished traditions and memories made with family and friends in national parks during the holiday season. The CBS special offers a unique opportunity for friends and families across the country to tune in and celebrate this holiday tradition from the comfort of their homes.

The National Christmas Tree Lighting is produced by White Rose Way Entertainment. Kristi Foley and Leon Knoles are executive producers. Knoles will also direct the special.

HOLLYWOOD SQUARES announced celebrity guests appearing on CBS’ new classic game show including Tyra Banks, Julie Bowen, Yvette Nicole Brown, Whitney Cummings, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Tiffany Haddish, Oliver Hudson, Pete Holmes, Gabriel Iglesias, Jo Koy, Jay Leno, Justin Long, Kevin Nealon, RuPaul, Andrew Rannells, Kristen Schaal, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Sheryl Underwood and Jimmy O. Yang. More celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.

HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, starring award-winning actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore as the center square and hosted by Nate Burleson (co-host of CBS MORNINGS and NFL Slimetime and analyst for THE NFL TODAY), premieres Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). HOLLYWOOD SQUARES moves to Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) beginning on Jan. 29 as part of CBS Game Night. Original Thursday episodes of CBS scripted series return to the lineup beginning Jan. 30.

ABOUT GHOSTS:

GHOSTS is a single-camera comedy about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and up-and-coming chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast – only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home. The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer (Danielle Pinnock); a pompous 18th-century militiaman (Brandon Scott Jones); a ‘60s hippie fond of hallucinogens (Sheila Carrasco); an overly upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader (Richie Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Devon Chandler Long); a slick ‘90s finance bro (Asher Grodman); a sarcastic and witty native from the 16th-century (Román Zaragoza); and a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Sam’s ancestor (Rebecca Wisocky), to name a few. The opening of the B&B has been a source of intrigue, anxiety and curiosity among the spirits, but they will gladly put up with the commotion as long as they can continue to interact with a living inhabitant.
