Nickelodeon UK Unveils Their Autumn/Winter 2013 Rebrand

Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids' television channel in the UK, has today, Monday 2nd September 2013, launched Nickelodeon UK & Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK's brand new channel rebrand, which features a brand new look, which includes fresh bright and colourful on-air presentation (Nickelodeon idents (station ID's), promo endboards, on-screen graphics and channel bumpers), to coincide with the start of the new 2013-2014 school year and Nickelodeon UK's 20th Birthday!

UPDATE - Added video montage of Nick UK's 2013 rebrand below!

Nickelodeon UK's new look was created in-house by Nickelodeon's marketing team and is based on Nickelodeon USA's current branding and features a mixture of Nick USA's current idents, including Nick's claymation-themed idents designed by the Argentinian design agency Ronda (pictured to the right) which feature 3D characters rebuilding the familiar Nickelodeon logo in a number of ways (similar to Nick UK's new idents), and all-new idents made by Nick UK, including idents where each letter in the words 'Nickelodeon' and 'Nick' are different characters and fonts (similar to Nick USA's idents).

A selection of new content included in the rebrand also features voiceovers from Nickelodeon's "House of Anubis" star, Brad Kavanagh!

Nick UK's all-new channel rebrand also features a mixture of brand new 'After the Break' and 'Now on Nickelodeon' channel bumpers, including bumpers featuring kids wearing 'animated T-Shirts' with the faces of Nickelodeon Stars on, and a selection of Nick USA's bumpers, including Nick's 'cut out Nickelodeon Stars' bumpers which feature the Nick Stars of the next show to be shown on Nick UK as cut-out paper dolls.

As part of Nick UK's A/W 2013 refresh, Nickelodeon UK has started to use a mix of the channels full name of Nickelodeon and their shortened brand name of 'Nick' in promos and idents.

Nickelodeon UK's Autumn/Winter 2013 rebrand also features brand new lower third digital on-screen graphics (DOGs), including a new 'New' BUG that appears as a 'animated ticker' for the first few seconds then becomes static to let the viewer know that the show or episode they are currently watching is new, and newly designed animated 'Now', 'Next' and 'Then' indicators to let the viewer know which show is currently showing on Nick, and which shows are coming up next.

Below is a high-definition (HD) high-quality (HQ) online streaming video clip featuring a montage of Nickelodeon UK's brand new idents and bumpers, including for the popular Nick shows "Marvin Marvin", "Big Time Rush", "Victorious" and "How to Rock", and Nick's upcoming brand new buddy sitcom, "Sam & Cat"!:

Viacom18 Partners With Amagi Media Labs To Deliver Regional Hindustan Unilever Commercials On Nickelodeon India

exchange4media, a website which focuses on the broadcasting, media, advertising and marketing industries in India, is reporting the Nickelodeon International news in the following article that Viacom18, the owner of Nickelodeon India, and Amagi Media Labs, a targeted television advertising company based in Bangalore, have announced a partnership to increase advertising effectiveness on television! Using Amagi's DART technology platform, Viacom18 will enable Hindustan Unilever, a Indian consumer goods company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to simultaneously air different TV advertisements in different regions of India on Nickelodeon, which will allow Hindustan Unilever to micro-target its communication in each region, similar to Nickelodeon UK's Irish feeds for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons.:
Viacom18 & Amagi partner to enable HUL micro-target comm in each region

Viacom18 and Amagi Media have announced an alliance that claims to increase advertising effectiveness on television. In a day and age where geo-targeting is the way to go, using Amagi’s DART technology platform, Viacom18 will enable Hindustan Unilever to simultaneously run different television advertisements in different regions on Nickelodeon.

This innovation will allow Hindustan Unilever to micro-target its communication in each region. Amagi calls this ‘creative-versioning’ where different television creative in terms of product variant or a different creative rendition of the same advertiser is played in different regions on the same channel simultaneously, shared an official release.

Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO, Viacom18 said, “As a leading broadcaster, Viacom 18 has been pioneering several innovations and has been at the forefront of providing newer platforms for improved customer deliveries. This initiative further builds on our strategic thrust of sharper segmentation. We are pleased to partner with Amagi and Hindustan Unilever on this unique concept of micro-targeting.”

Creative versioning addresses critical needs of both, broadcasters and advertisers seeking to optimise their Return on Investment (RoI) from the television spot. Given TRAI's recent 12-minute ruling on advertising, broadcasters and advertisers have been seeking ways to optimise RoI and stretch the time within the limited inventory.

Srinivasan KA, Co-Founder, Amagi Media said, “We are happy that we have been chosen as the partner to enable this innovation. This is the first time worldwide in television advertising that a single spot bought nationally has been used to communicate different brand messages in different regions. Such micro-targeting is going to be the future of television advertising.”
