Funko Unveils NYCC 2020 Exclusive Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Pop! Figures

THERE'S EVVVVVIIIILLLL AFOOT - but luckily Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are here to save the day!

Funko has announced the spongeriffic news that they'll be releasing vinyl figures based on SpongeBob SquarePants's favorite superheroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for New York Comic Con 2020!

Funko's Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Pop! Figures will be made available in a limited quality as a NYCC 2020 Exclusive.

Update (9/18) - Funko's Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Pop! Figures will be available for purchase at Funko.com and Entertainment Earth!

In addition to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy figures, Funko will also be releasing a Danny Phantom Pop figure!

As the voice actors of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway respectively, have sadly passed away, Bikini Bottom's crime-fighting duo have been sort of retired from the series. However, these Funko Pop! figures based on the beloved characters will serve as a sweet tribute to both Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, as well as to the talented actors who voiced them.

New York Comic Con 2020 was supposed to take place on October 8th through the 11th of this year. Just like previous conventions that have been canceled (Emerald City, WonderExpo, San Diego), Funko will be having replacing NYCC with Virtual Con 4.0. Just like San Diego Comic Con, these will all be released on the Funko-Shop in one big online event. Most of these Pops will be getting shared exclusives that will hit the usual chain of retailers like GameStop, Walmart, Target, Hot Topic, and more. Basing everything off the last online event, the Funko-Shop will have a 50/50 chance of getting your hands on an official NYCC sticker. Fans will be able to find them here when the event takes place which still has yet to be determined. The shared exclusives list also has not been released but we should see it by the end of the week. Stay tuned for new Nickelodeon NYCC 2020 Funko reveals as they release in the coming days.

Crossties in Texarkana, AR to Host Free Outdoor Screening of 'Dora and the Lost City of Gold' on Saturday, September 19

Texarkana, AR - Texarkana's newest event center Crossties in downtown Texarkana will be hosting a free outdoor screening of Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures’ live-action movie based on Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series Dora the Explorer, on Saturday, September 19, 2020!

Food will be available for purchase by JR's Catering and drinks from the Frozen Rail.


Please bring your own lawn chairs and a blanket.

With the fall like September temperatures, watching Dora and the Lost City of Gold under the stars should make for a very nice night.

Crossties is located at 324 East Broad in Texarkana, Arkansas.in the newly created Arkansas Entertainment District.


Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – high school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeff Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

11-time Emmy and four-time BAFTA nominee director James Bobin (Alice Through the Looking Glass) has assembled a cast of diverse superstars to star in the movie, including: Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Transformers: The Last Knight) as Dora, Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives, Overboard) as Dora's mother, Elena; Michael Peña as Dora's father; Eugenio Derbez (Overboard, Instructions Not Included; How to Be A Latin Lover), who plays Alejandro, a mysterious jungle inhabitant who tries to protect the teenagers from the marauders; Jeffrey Wahlberg (Future World, Ballers, Counterpart, Reefa) in the role of cousin Diego; Nicholas Coombe (Spy Kids: Mission Control, Midnight Sun) as Randy, a fellow high schooler who develops an immediate crush on Dora; Madeleine Madden (Picnic at Hanging Rock, Tidelands) as the school’s snooty class president, Sammy; Academy Award nominee Adriana Barraza (Babel, Amores Perros, Thor, The 33) as Dora’s grandma, Abuelita Valerie; Temuera Morrison (Green Lantern, Moana), who will play the role of Powell; Q’orianka Kilcher (The Alienist), who will play Inca Princess Kawillaka; Pia Miller (Home and Away) as Dora's aunt Mami; Madelyn Miranda, who portrays Young Dora; Benicio del Toro as the voice of Swiper the fox, Danny Trejo as the voice of Boots the Monkey; and Marc Weiner (Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, Dora and Friends: Into the City, Weinerville) as the voice of Map.
