Big Time Rush Announces New Tour

Big Time Rush is back! After being on hiatus for seven years, the massively popular boyband from Nickelodeon's hit comedy series of the same name will be going on tour later this year for Big Time Rush Live 2021!

The news follows speculation that the band had something special for fans up their sleeves after their social media accounts changed their avatar to a red dot last week.

There are currently two confirmed dates for Big Time Rush 2021 Live:

Dec. 15, 2021 - Chicago Theater, Chicago, IL
Dec. 18, 2021 - Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom, New York, NY

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Fri, Jul 23 at 11:00 am CDT, with pre-sales - including for Rushers - also in the pipeline. Tickets will be available from the band's official website, https://www.bigtimerushofficial.com.

Update (72/2) - Pre-sale tickets to Big Time Rush's new reunion concerts went on sale on Ticketmaster on July 21, where, unfortunately, they sold out within minutes.

For the Chicago concert on December 15th, 2021 at The Chicago Theatre the ticket prices for one person start at $283.00 and they can end up at $5,010. For the New York concert taking place on December 18th, 2021 at the Manhattan Centre Hammerstein Ballroom, the prices for one ticket start at $200.00 and end up at $439.00, but with most seats being already reserved.

On the official Big Time Rush social media, the band said: "BIG TIME RUSH LIVE! WE ARE BACK! It’s been a minute, but we couldn’t be more excited to see you! Lets make up for lost time," attaching the following video announcing the new tour:

In the video, a dramatic voiceover checks in on each member as it announces that "the people of the world are ready for a comeback of epic proportions."

Stopped in the woods is Schmidt, who talks back to the voiceover, "Whoever you are, that's a character I played on a television show years ago."

Then, the voiceover visits James, who, fittingly, is in an undershirt making fixes to his car's engine. "Man, after all these years, he still looks good," the voiceover says. After that, the voiceover stops at the home of Carlos, "the wild child," as he plays around with his two babies.

"Daddy, is that God?" asks one of his children.

The camera then pans to Logan (the smart one in the sitcom) who is performing surgery... well, actually he's just playing Operation the board game.

"Together, these four men will once again live it big time," the voiceover says. "The show must go on. The world needs Big Time Rush."

The clip ends with the voiceover singing the first few notes to Big Time Rush's theme song.

Fans can follow Big Time Rush on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube.

The Los Angeles–based boy band was formed in 2009 and starred in Big Time Rush, until 2013. The group released three albums and staged their final tour in 2014.

In Big Time Rush, four best friends from Minnesota trade in their hockey sticks and high-school life for the opportunity of a lifetime: pursue pop music stardom in Los Angeles as a boy band. Discovered as a solo singer, Kendall has no interest in leaving his Midwest life behind, so he agrees to take part in "pop group" training in exchange for the record company allowing his three buddies -- James, Logan and Carlos -- a chance to make it with him as a group. They live in Palm Woods, a swanky hotel that is home to other aspiring teen entertainers, but the boys soon find life in Hollywood is not all about the parties and girls, and if they are to make it in the big time, it will only come from hard work, dedication -- and the support of one another. They must undertake the task of becoming the next big hit while also staying true to themselves.

Apart from their chart-topping hit “Boyfriend (feat. Snoop Dog),” Big Time Rush released three albums: debut “BTR” in 2010, sophomore album “Elevate” and “24/Seven.”

Big Time Rush stars Kendall Schmidt as Kendall Knight, Carlos PenaVega as Carlos Garcia, James Maslow as James Diamond, Logan Henderson as Logan Mitchell, Ciara Bravo as Katie Knight, Stephen Kramer Glickman as Gustavo Rocque, Tanya Chisholm as Kelly Wainwright, Challen Cates as Jennifer Knight, Erin Sanders as Camille Roberts, Katelyn Tarver as Jo Taylor, and Malese Jow as Lucy Stone.

The news follows Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos hosting a series of virtual reunions during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included releasing new renditions of two of their hit songs, "Worldwide" and "Beautiful Christmas" - and it's speculated that the boys will be treating fans to new music later this year.

Big Time Rush is available to stream on Paramount+ and Netflix.
