It all went down during promotion for a big SpongeBob special at the time - Atlantis SquarePantis. To celebrate SpongeBob and friends heading to Atlantis, Nickelodeon's marketing department decided to create a few shorts called Patchy's Underwater Talk Show, taking place in the SpongeBob universe. Patchy the Pirate and Potty the Parrot, along with Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide star Devon Werkheiser, were both underwater during these shorts, which resulted in chaos behind the scenes.
