Shoppers were left thrilled after pop star Peter Andre paid a visit to a Birmingham mall.

The 40-year-old was at the city centre's Bullring shopping mall today as part of a campaign aimed at teaching youngsters news skills.

The dad-of-two, who divorced former glamour model Katie Price almost four years ago, is ambassador of the Fruit Shoot Nickelodeon Skills Tour.

The initiative sees skilled record breakers travelling across the country to share their skills and to encourage children to get active.

The Mysterious Girl singer said: “As a dad of young kids, I know how much fun they have trying out different things and learning new skills, so I’m delighted to be part of the campaign.”

The reality TV star, who is now dating medical student Emily MacDonagh, put a message on social networking site Twitter following the event to thank his fans.

He wrote: "Had an awesome day today getting involved in the fruitshoot get your skills on’ Campaign :) amazing."
