Nickelodeon's "Peter Rabbit" Wins Award At The 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards

Dublin animation studio Brown Bag Films has been honoured at the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the US for its work on the Nickelodeon-BBC CG-animated preschool series Peter Rabbit!

The series won the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program award in Los Angeles on Friday 29th April 2016, with storyboard artist Benjamin Sanders also honoured with an Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation award.

Since its debut in 2013, Peter Rabbit has won a number of Emmys - known as the 'Oscars of the TV industry' - while two other Brown Bag series, Doc McStuffins and Henry Hugglemonster, were among this year's nominees.

Earlier this month, Brown Bag and London's Acamar Films Production were honoured at the International Emmy Kids' Awards for their cartoon Bing.

Brown Bag was also Oscar-nominated for Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty.

The company, which was founded by Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O'Connell in 1994, announced last year that it had been acquired by Canadian animation company 9 Story Media Group. Gaffney and O'Connell still lead the Brown Bag team and are executive producers on Peter Rabbit.

Fans can catch more brand-new episodes of Peter Rabbit on Monday 2nd, Wednesday 4th and Friday 6th May 2016 at 6:00pm, only on Nick Jr. USA!

A huge congratulations to Nickelodeon, BBC, Brown Bag Films, Silvergate Media and Benjamin Sanders on their awards!
