"Angry Birds Toons" To Fly Onto Nickelodeon Australia And New Zealand

Leading kids' entertainment specialist CAKE has announced the exciting news in a press release that Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand has acquired the broadcast rights to the popular animated series Angry Birds Toons, and the shows two spin offs, Angry Birds Stella and Piggy Tales!

Angry Birds Toons (104 x 3') is an animated, non-dialogue series that brings to life the characters and adventures from one of the most beloved games in history, Angry Birds, and reveals the fun and sneaky worlds of the Angry Birds and their piggy nemeses.

Angry Birds Stella (26 x 6') follows Stella and her five BFFs - Poppy, Willow, Dahlia, Luca and Gale, who live in a never-before-seen corner of the Angry Birds universe, Golden Island. Together they explore, create, rock out and laugh... a lot! But just like in any friendship, strong personalities can sometimes clash. The important thing is that they always make up in the end... or do they? The animated, non-dialogue series is a CGI production and brings the magical Golden Island to life in a way that is enjoyable for both children and adults.

Piggy Tales (55 x 1') gives fans a glimpse into the lives of their favourite green Pigs, in a way they've never seen before! In this unique, clad style CGI animation, the loved and long-suffering Bad Piggies face a series of challenges and unexpected events, leading to comical solutions. The minute-long episodes appeal to wide audiences including the fans of Bad Piggies and Angry Birds. Like Angry Birds Toons, Piggy Tales is a non-dialogue animation, easily understood by both kids and adults worldwide.

The Angry Birds animated series and games are produced by Rovio Entertainment Ltd.

The news comes as CAKE prepares to launch two brand-new Angry Birds series starring the characters from the hit The Angry Birds Movie at MIPCOM.

Piggy Tales: Third Act (35 x 1’25) sees the new look Piggies from the feature film act out their trademark antics paying tribute to the classics of stage and screen with (often unintentionally) hilarious results, and Piggy Street (30 x 1'25"), the fourth series of Piggy Tales, which takes place on a street corner in Pig City where we meet our loveable Pigs in everyday life situations. Losing their car keys, getting stuck in traffic or dining in a coffee shop, on this street anything can happen in this fun, engaging world full of surprises!

Both series follow the success of The Angry Birds Movie, which reached number one at the box office in over 50 countries. All content is non-dialogue to appeal to the brand’s large global fan base.

"We are delighted with the reception that Angry Birds has received and are looking forward to bringing brand new content to television audiences around the world," said Ed Galton, Chief Content Officer (CCO) and Managing Director (MD) at CAKE.
