Danny Tamberelli and Michael C. Maronna Announce '90s Night' Tour [Updated]

If the names Endless Mike; Artie, the strongest man in the world; or Petunia mean anything to you — or you want to know where Mr. Tastee goes in the winter — there's a chance you're a fan of Nickelodeon's iconic '90s series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

This upended and surreal indie suburban sitcom followed Big Pete (Michael Maronna) and his little brother Pete (Danny Tamberelli) as they navigated life in the fictional town of Wellsville — most likely based on Wellsville, N.Y. — with their friends and family (including mom and the metal plate in her head).

It was one of the most original and creative shows for kids and teens on TV — running for three seasons from 1993 to 1996 — and featured musical acts and guest stars ranging from recurring characters like Adam West as Principal Ken Schwinger and Iggy Pop as Nona F. Mecklenberg's (Michelle Trachtenberg, Harriet the Spy) father to guest appearances from the likes of Blondie's Debbie Harry, Janeane Garofalo, J.K. Simmons and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe.

If you've missed Pete and Pete, Maronna and Tamberelli are hosting a series of "90s Night with Danny Tamberelli & Michael C. Maronna" nights are venues across the USA in September. According to the description, their performances will blend audio, visuals and on-stage interactions for "optimal nostalgia." They will critique some old TV shorts, read scenes with audience members, play their favorite '90s tunes and host meet and greets.

Nickelodeon's Pete and Pete are throwing a '90s party in Chicago this weekend

nyone who spent the ’90s as a Nickelodeon kid probably remembers “Pete and Pete,” the show about Big Pete and Little Pete, a pair of brothers with different personalities who found their ways in and out of sticky situations.

These days, both Petes are Big Petes, and actors Michael Maronna and Danny Tamberelli are currently on a nostalgic tour, reminiscing about the days both were Little Petes. The tour will make its Chicago stop 9 p.m. this Sunday at Beat Kitchen (2100 W. Belmont Ave.).

The event sounds like an evening of laid-back, fun nostalgia. According to the event description, activities include a meet and greet session with the Petes, and the two will screen and “critique” some of their old shorts. The show began as a series of one-minute interstitials.

Several lucky guests will be selected to read some old scenes as well. A ’90s soundtrack curated by the Petes will also serenade attendees throughout the evening.

The show is limited to ages 21 and over.
