Nickelodeon to Produce New Show Exclusively for Netflix

Bob Bakish, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom Inc., the parent company of brands such as Nickelodeon, MTV and Paramount, today announced at the Royal Television Society (RTS) conference in London, that Viacom has struck a deal for Nickelodeon to produce a brand-new series exclusively for Netflix, as part of the latest move by Viacom to push the company into a future beyond traditional television!


It's currently unclear whether the show Bakish was talking about is Netflix's brand-new live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, which the streamer announced today. However, according to media reports, this series is being produced by Netflix in partnership with Nickelodeon. It's also unknown whether Bakish meant Pinky Malinky, a brand-new Nickelodeon produced animated comedy series which is set to debut exclusively on Netflix soon.
