NASA Astronaut Megan McArthur to Guest Star in New 'Blaze and the Monster Machines' Episode 'Robots in Space'

The brand-new Blaze and the Monster Machines "Robots in Space" will feature an actual out-of-this-world guest star: NASA astronaut Megan McArthur will join the title team in a thrilling, outer space adventure!

In the episode, when Space Commander Megan is marooned on Pluto, Blaze and his monster truck friends transform into robot heroes and race through wormholes, shoot past ice volcanoes, and blast straight through an asteroid field to bring their new friend back home. Get a glimpse of science in action when the new episode premieres on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. ET/PT on Nick Jr. on Nickelodeon USA! To celebrate, Collider has shared a super sneak-peek from the episode featuring a stunning sequence from her character’s journey, which you can watch here on collider.com!

Collider has also shared some exclusive character art from the new episode, including designs for McArthur’s character and the transforming Monster Machines. McArthur, selected as an astronaut in 2000, served as a Mission Specialist aboard STS-125, the final space shuttle mission to the Hubble Space Telescope, a mission that improved the telescope’s capabilities and extended its life so that it could still be functional today!

And as for Blaze, here’s the official series synopsis:

"In Blaze and the Monster Machines, the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ have adventures that explore the physics of how things move; tackle problems through scientific inquiry and mathematics; and discover the parts needed to make everyday technologies work. Each action-packed episode is filled with monster trucks, physical humor and upbeat original songs with lyrics that highlight a STEM concept such as adhesion, friction, force, trajectory and magnetism. Blaze and the Monster Machines is created by Jeff Borkin (Team Umizoomi head writer) and Ellen Martin (Bubble Guppies supervising producer)."

Currently in its fourth season, Nickelodeon recently renewed Blaze and the Monster Machines for a fifth season.
