Paris-based distributor PGS Entertainment has secured a raft of presales with international broadcasters for the upcoming third season of CGI-animated series The Jungle Bunch.

Commissioned by France Télévisions, broadcasters across 30 territories have picked up the new season including Nickelodeon Italy (Italia), Cartoon Network France, Fox LatAm (Latin America), TV Azteca in Mexico, WeKids in China, RAI in Italy, RTBF in Belgium, Télé-Quebec in Canada, ETV in South Africa, Dreamia’s Canal Panda in Portugal, TVNZ in New Zealand, ERR in Estonia, LRT in Lithuania and Lattelecom in Latvia.

Toulouse, France-based TAT productions and Master Films will co-produce the third season, while PGS Entertainment will handle all global distribution. A premiere date for the new 52 x 11-minute season, which was greenlit in January 2019, is still to be announced.

The Jungle Bunch, targeted to both kids & their families, features an enchanting and comedic array of animal characters, including Maurice the penguin, who thinks he’s a tiger; and Junior, the tiger fish.

It first debuted as a 1-minute episode in 2012, which quickly led to a TV special & shorts. Since then, The Jungle Bunch has grown into an international success, with 2 seasons airing in over 180 territories, on all continents, including on major networks such as Cartoon Network and Nat Geo kids, SVOD platforms such as Netflix, and leading free-to-air broadcasts such as Rai (Italy), Super RTL (Germany), Clan (Spain), ABC (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand), TeleQuebec (Fr. Canda), Ouf Tivi (Belgium), VRT (Belgium), NRK (Norway), and many more! Show recently launched in the US on Sprout and Hulu.

The franchise originally launched in 2012 as a 26 x one-and-a-half-minute series, which then expanded to a 52-minute TV movie, and a second 104 x 11-minute season developed in partnership with France Télévisions and Germany’s Super RTL. To date, the first two seasons have aired in more than 180 territories on channels and platforms such as Nickelodeon India, Netflix, Hulu, Sprout in the US, Rai in Italy, Super RTL in Germany, Clan in Spain, ABC in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand, Télé-Quebec in Canada, Ouf Tivi in Belgium, VRT in Belgium and NRK in Norway. TAT is also currently in development on the IP’s feature film sequel, The Jungle Bunch 2.

The success of the two seasons led to a worldwide theatrical release in over 70 territories in 2017 and an extensive licensing program with over 100 licensing partners.

The latest season will introduce many new characters and environments that were featured in the property’s 2017 theatrical release of the same name, as well as feature the return of favorite characters, new romances and much more!

The Jungle Bunch has won over a dozen awards, including the prestigious Kids Emmy Award for Best Animation (2014), as well as Pulcinella Awards (2012) (2014), and Kidscreen Awards (2013) (2014).

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce the greenlighting of Season 3 of The Jungle Bunch. Following the theatrical release, in which we were able to introduce new major characters & settings, we are continuing to extend and complete the Jungle Bunch universe brick-by-brick,” said Jean-Francois Tosti, producer and co-creator of the brand, along with David Alaux & Eric Tosti.

The Jungle Bunch has a proven track record with kids and families across the world and delivers massive ratings. We are proud to continue being a part of this incredible success story and grateful that our partners keep coming back for more Jungle Bunch adventures,” said Guillaume Soutter of PGS.

“The feature film allowed us to introduce new environments and new characters. We couldn’t be more excited to continue the adventures and introduce these new elements in Season 3. While maintaining the comedy, action, and high quality, the new season will attach these features to the characters even more superbly than previously done! We’re excited that our broadcasting partners continue to support these stories & adventures and how it’s resonated so well with their audiences,” added Jean-Francois Tosti, producer and co-creator of the brand (along with David Alaux & Eric Tosti).
