'Dora and the Lost City of Gold' and Izabella Alvarez Take Home the Honors at the 35th Annual Imagen Awards

Update (9/25) - Dora and the Lost City of Gold won a leading three awards at the 2020 Imagen Awards, designed to recognize Latino talent! Dora won best feature film, best director (James Bobin) and one of the two awards for best actress in a feature film for star Isabela Merced. That award went to both Merced and Hustlers star Jennifer Lopez in a tie. Additionally, Nickelodeon star Izabella Alvarez was named Best Young Actor – Television for her role in Collisions! A huge congratulations to Isabela Merced, James Bobin, Nickelodeon Movies, Paramount Pictures, the production team behind Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Izabella Alvarez!

The Imagen Foundation has announced the fantastic news that Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, has received two nominations in the 35th Annual Imagen Awards!


The Imagen Awards honors the positive portrayal and creative excellence of Latinos and Latino cultures in television and film.

The Casagrandes, a companion spin-off series from The Loud House has been nominated in the "Best Children’s Programming" category of this year's Imagen Awards, with Nickelodeon star Izabella Alvarez, receiving two nominations in the "Best Young Actor – Television" category: one for voicing Ronnie Anne in The Casagrandes and a second for starring in Collisions!

Nickelodeon's music competition series America’s Most Musical Family has been nominated for "Best Variety or Reality Show".

And lastly, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Players' Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the live-action movie inspired by Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series, earned four nominations: For Best Feature Film; Isabela Moner for Best Actress – Feature Film; James Bobin for Best Feature Film; and Eugenio Derbez for Best Actor – Feature Film,

The Imagen Awards will be presented virtually Thursday, September 24th, at 5:00 PM.
