Skybound & Iam8bit Release TMNT Turtlemania! Giclée Print

iam8bit today (Feb. 3) revealed that in collaboration with Nickelodeon, along with Skybound, they will be releasing this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Turtlemania!" print! This is the fourth release in their Lean/Mean/Green: A TMNT Limited Edition Art Print Series, as they are presenting an intricately detailed 12"x36" archival-quality Giclée print by UK artist Aled Lewis. The release is part of iam8bit's 15th Anniversary celebrations.

A look at the Turtlemania! Giclée Print, courtesy of iam8bit.

The image itself is a reinterpretation of the half-shell heroes through his artistic lens. As you can see from the image below, this is his take on the famous 1989 Konami four-player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game, showing off our heroes in a half-shell in various forms battling enemies throughout the game, eventually calibrating with some pizza back at their home base. Here's some added info on the design.

This illustration is one for the TMNT history books. At a staggering 36” long, the landscape is brimming with superfan easter eggs. It’s a veritable Where’s Waldo for TMNT devotees, boosting lots of familiar faces and locations, but also a cheeky sense of humor that has become a trademark of Aled Lewis’s work. There is so much jam-packed into this print, that it's impossible to show everything, so you’re just going to have to acquire one of your own to stare at endlessly. Look out for the Turtles crossing the Abbey Road zebra crossing!

"Famed worldwide for his off-kilter blending of artistic styles and unmistakable visual humor, Lewis brought his A-game for this gloriously witty, arcade-influenced tribute to the TMNT universe, delivering a sprawling cityscape in which duplicated dozens of our beloved reptilian brothers wage war and mischief in the streets. You could spend all morning poring over this perfectly pixel-mad tapestry of controlled chaos, whether you're in search of the Shredder, tracking the travails of his nefarious Foot Clan ninjas, or focused on following the Turtles through it all as they kick some serious shell around New York City, train with Master Splinter, and valiantly complete a much-needed pizza quest."

Lewis' print (all hand-numbered and signed by the artist) will only be available as a timed edition on iam8bit.com. You can snag one for $100 as it will be made available pre-order on February 3rd at 10am PT, and will be available through February 17th. Once they're done, they are done and no more will be made. This is a pretty awesome print and for fans of the arcade title, it is a must-own.

It’s no secret that we’re superfans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so in celebration of the iam8bit 15th Anniversary, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Skybound and a bunch of really awesome artists for a limited-edition print series. The fourth installment in the series is a print by famed UK artist, Aled Lewis.

This illustration is one for the TMNT history books. At a staggering 36” long, the landscape is brimming with superfan easter eggs. It’s a veritable “Where’s Waldo” for TMNT devotees, boosting lots of familiar faces and locations, but also a cheeky sense of humor that has become a trademark of Aled Lewis’s work. There is so much jam-packed into this print, we can’t possibly show you everything, so you’re just going to have to acquire one of your own to stare at endlessly.

What the heck is a Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay) is a rather fancy-pants word, but it's used with good reason. It means that the print is MUSEUM QUALITY, produced using archival, fade-resistant ink and acid-free, fine art paper.

What’s a “Timed Release”?

This means this print will only be available for a very limited time, and its production run will be determined by the number of orders received. After February 17, 2021, this edition will be closed, and the print will never be produced again. This is, quite literally, your only opportunity to acquire this beauty!
