Rugrats made its world premiere on Paramount+ on Thursday, May 27, with the first set of episodes now available to stream.
The U.S.-English dub of the series stars E.G. Daily (Tommy Pickles), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael), and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille), all of whom are reprising their iconic roles in this new series.
The original adventurous babies’ voice cast is joined by new voices, including Ashley Rae Spillers and Tommy Dewey (Tommy’s parents, Didi and Stu Pickles); Tony Hale (Chuckie’s father, Chas Finster); Natalie Morales, (Phil and Lil’s mother, Betty DeVille); Anna Chlumsky and Timothy Simons (Angelica’s parents, Charlotte and Drew Pickles); Nicole Byer and Omar Miller (Susie’s parents, Lucy and Randy Carmichael); and Michael McKean (Grandpa Lou Pickles). Guest stars include Jameela Jamil (The Good Place).
Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the all-new Rugrats is based on the series created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain. Eryk Casemiro (“Rugrats”) and Kate Boutilier (“Rugrats”) are executive producers and Dave Pressler (“Robot and Monster”) and Casey Leonard (“Breadwinners”) serve as co-executive producers, with Rachel Lipman (“Rugrats”) as co-producer and Kellie Smith (“The Fairly OddParents”) as line producer. Charlie Adler (“Rugrats”) serves as the voice director. Production is overseen by Mollie Freilich, Senior Manager, Current Series Animation, Nickelodeon.
The original “Rugrats” series launched in August of 1991 and instantly became a groundbreaking phenomenon, spawning consumer products and three hit theatrical releases, cementing its place in pop culture history through its iconic characters, storytelling, and unique visual style. “Rugrats” was in production for nine seasons over the course of 13 years. The series earned four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids' Choice Awards, and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Other animated Nickelodeon exclusives on Paramount+ include the CG-animated SpongeBob SquarePants prequel series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, the iCarly revival, and the upcoming Star Trek: Prodigy.

No Brasil, o elenco que realiza a dublagem da série se manteve o mesmo desde a última temporada que foi ao ar no ano de 2004 e que também esteve em “Rugrats Crescidos” (2005). Na nova temporada, Fátima Noya (Tommy), Marli Bortoletto (Angélica), Rosana Beltrame (Betty) e Ursula Bezerra (Chuckie) se reúnem novamente para criar uma nova legião de fãs do desenho.

Uma das vantagens de ser dublador de animação é que ninguém conhece sua cara. Mas certa vez, no pronto-socorro, com dores, Cree Summer foi reconhecida pela voz de Susie Carmichael, a bebê cheia de imaginação de 'Rugrats: Os Anjinhos'. É uma prova da influência do desenho animado criado por Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó e Paul Germain e que ficou no ar entre 1991 e 2006 na Nickelodeon. Eles retornam em uma nova versão, no serviço de streaming Paramount+. "A série fez tanto sucesso no passado e teve um impacto tão grande em diferentes gerações que parecia óbvio trazê-la de volta", afirmou E.G. Daily, que dubla Tommy. "Todo mundo vai se conectar rapidamente."
'Rugrats: Os Anjinhos' traz a aventura de Tommy, um bebê de um ano de idade, e outros pequenos como ele, do inseguro Chuckie aos gêmeos Phil e Lil, conhecidos por colocar tudo na boca, Angelica, cheia de vontades, e a doce Susie.
"Foi terapêutico para mim porque esses dois são como meus amigos", disse Kath Soucie, que dubla Phil e Lil, em entrevista com a participação do Estadão.
Mas muita coisa mudou desde que a série entrou no ar. "Este é um novo 'Rugrats'. Os bebês nascem com tecnologia, então o desenho precisa refletir o que as crianças vivem hoje", contou Cree Summer, que faz Susie. E isso influencia até a técnica de animação utilizada: agora, 'Os Anjinhos' é feito em CGI, ou seja, computação gráfica.

RUGRATS: REBOOT DA SÉRIE CLÁSSICA ESTREARÁ EM MARÇO NA NICKELODEON
A Nickelodeon Brasil revelou por meio de suas redes sociais no último sábado (19) que irá estrear o reboot de sua série clássica Rugrats, Os Anjinhos no mês de março. Confira:

Durante 2021 o canal exibiu alguns especiais para promover a estreia da animação no serviço da Paramount+, contudo, a série finalmente irá chegar oficialmente na tela da Nickelodeon no próximo mês. Este reboot foi feito em CGI e contou com a produção da Klasky Csupo Studios e da Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
A primeira temporada conta com 25 episódios e estreou nos EUA em maio de 2021. A trama não sofreu grandes alterações e permanece seguindo um grupo de bebês que entram em diversas aventuras sem os seus pais sequer imaginarem, o grupo é formado por Tommy; Chuck e os gêmeos Phil e Lil. A prima mais velha de Tommy, Angelica, também faz parte dos episódios.
Rugrats estreia na Nickelodeon Brasil dia 5 de março, às 12h.
