Propstore, one of the world’s leading entertainment memorabilia auction houses, returns this month with an exceptional lineup of film and television memorabilia. Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, taking place Wednesday, March 25 – Friday, March 27, will showcase original production artwork from the 1960s through to the modern 21st century, spanning more than five decades of animated television.
SpongeBob SquarePants – SpongeBob and Patrick in the Jellyfish Fields, multi-cel setup on art giclée pan background
The three-day sale features more than 1,500 rare film and television lots, with Day 3 spotlighting a collection of more than 200 original animation artworks from the cartoons that shaped childhood across generations.
Among the many animation highlights heading to the auction block is an an original multi-cel production setup on a fine art giclée pan background from Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants, showing SpongeBob and Patrick in the Jellyfish Fields. SpongeBob SquarePants made its Nickelodeon debut in 1999 and quickly became a global phenomenon. Notably, the series utilized traditional hand-painted cel animation only for its first season, making surviving productions increasingly rare and sought after. Sourced directly from the studio archive and carefully preserved, this example carries an estimate of $1,000 – $2,000.
The three-day Live Auction runs from March 25-27 with global online, absentee and telephone bidding available throughout the three days.
Day 1 (March 25): Begins at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT / 4:30 p.m. GMT. Public in-room bidding at The Petersen Automotive Museum, Los Angeles, as well as global online, absentee, and telephone bidding
Days 2–3 (March 26 & 27): Begins at 9 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. EDT / 4 p.m. GMT. Live global online, absentee, and telephone bidding only.
The final day will showcase more than 200 lots of animation artwork, original cels and other highlights from shows including SpongeBob SquarePants, ThunderCats, The Simpsons, Pokémon, The Powerpuff Girls, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, The Flintstones, Godzilla, and The New Batman Adventures, alongside entertainment memorabilia, celebrating the artistry of animation in film and television.

Actor Mark Hamill, a legend of the big and small screen thanks to his iconic roles in such Luke Skywalker in Star Wars and The Joker in the acclaimed Batman animated series along with Fire Lord Ozai on Avatar: The Last Airbender - and even the voice of Invader ZIM in the sadly unreleased original pilot of the show - is set to voice iconic ghoul The Flying Dutchman in The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, set to hit theaters in December.
During a recent interview with Animation Magazine to promote his latest role, as the voice of the despotic King Herod in Angel Studios’ new animated feature The King of Kings, the Emmy-winning actor and three-time Annie nominee took some time to talk about his upcoming appearance on the fourth theatrical movie based on Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants, and heaped praise on the series and Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob and his wife, Jill Talley, the voice of Karen.
Speaking to Animation Magazine, Hamill said:
I’ll be voicing The Flying Dutchman again in that movie. Let me tell you: Being invited to come and visit Bikini Bottom is like someone paying you to go on all the rides in an amusement. I can’t believe how much fun this is. Tom Kenny and I and his wife Jill Talley have been friends of my wife and I for decades. They’re two of the most talented and wonderful people I know. Tom is so much fun to work, and I mean he is SpongeBob. I don’t know what they would have done if they hadn’t found him. He just embodies that sort of guileless, innocent and cheerful character in every situation.
Not too much is currently known about The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, however, it was recently teased in a trailer during Paramount Pictures' presentation at CinemaCon that it'll follow SpongeBob's efforts to become a "big man." When Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown) tells SpongeBob about his days on the seas, it motivates SpongeBob and Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) to follow in his footsteps and go on a swashbuckling sailing adventure. When SpongeBob and Patrick cross paths with the Flying Dutchman (Hamill), he takes them to the underworld, where they must endure terrors beyond the sponge’s imagination, including scary rollercoasters. The movie will boast CG-animation and live-action.
During Paramount's CinemaCon presentation, Tom Kenny and Mark Hamill took to the stage to discuss The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.
Mark Hamill received the CinemaCon Icon Award last week (Image; Hollywood Icon Video]
Hamill offered up a particularly eyebrow-raising tease for his role as the Flying Dutchman: "I actually did an episode of SpongeBob in the fifth season, and I did such a great job they asked me back 18 years later...And if I do my job correctly, every child in America will hate my guts."
The original SpongeBob SquarePants voice cast will return for The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. The cast includes Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks) and Mr. Lawrence (Sheldon J. Plankton).
The Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies release, based on the beloved series created by Stephen Hillenburg, is being directed by Derek Drymon. Pam Brady and Lisa Stewart and producing.
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants is currently slated to be released in theaters on Friday, December 19, 2025 during the holiday season.
Fans can catch Hamill as the voice of the despotic King Herod in The King of Kings, which is a new animated take on the story of Jesus Christ, as seen through a little-known story by Charles Dickens, in theaters today just in time for Easter.

Nickelodeon will host the network premiere of the blockbuster movie Sing 2 (2011) on Sunday, February 11 at 4:00 p.m. (ET/PT)! It all leads up to Super Bowl LVIII From Bikini Bottom at 6:30 p.m. (ET)!
Illumination’s smash animated franchise returns with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as can-do koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet …in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star—played by legendary music icon Bono, making his animated film debut—to join them.
Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) and his cast have turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.
But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother pig Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker porcupine Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, porcine provocateur extraordinaire Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by a ruthless mogul wolf named Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).
In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife and hasn’t been seen since.
As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage. What begins as Buster’s dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.
Sing 2 is written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features, in addition to Bono’s and Cannavale’s roles, new characters played by music superstars Pharrell Williams and Halsey, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright, and comedians Eric Andre and Chelsea Peretti.
The film is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy. Sing 2 combines dozens of classic rock and pop hit songs, electrifying performances, breathtaking artistry, and Illumination’s signature humor and heart into the definitive feel-good cinematic event.

Indeed, SpongeBob SquarePants, Batman and Hello Kitty Pops have been given a rainbow makeover that looks absolutely fabulous.
In addition to the rainbow coloring, the images of the Pops seems to indicate that they will also be translucent (see the close-up of SpongeBob below), though Funko hasn't confirmed this. Needless to say, the effect would be stunning. The SpongeBob figure is inspired by the iconic 'rainbow' scene from the series.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - "Commissioner Gordon"
Commissioner Gordon attempts to make sense of the latest attack on Arkham—and Gotham's strange new visitors—in this clip from Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Who could have guessed that Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would wind up being two great tastes that taste even greater together? DC Entertainment and IDW are continuing their hot streak of hilariously over-the-top collisions between the rain-slicked gloom of Gotham and the cartoon color of the Turtles’ New York City with Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III--the third and final miniseries in the crossover saga. And this time, TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman is getting in on the action alongside writer James Tynion IV and artist Freddie Williams II. Take a look at this awesome preview of Batman/TMNT III #2 below, via GameSpot!
While the first miniseries brought the villainous Foot Clan to Gotham and the second brought longtime Batman foe, Bane, to NYC, the third series is getting bigger than ever before as Krang--though probably not the Krang you might be familiar with--poses a threat to the multiverse itself.
That’s right, the weird and wild world of Batman/TMNT is going full Cosmic Crisis as Krang is mixed in with the Anti-Monitor. And that’s only the beginning of Batman/TMNT III’s reimagining of classic characters: The Turtles themselves all borrow looks from the roster of Robin alumni like Red Hood and Nightwing while Joker is now the Shredder-like leader of the terrifying Smile Clan.
Issue #2 continues the multiversal insanity as Batman and the Turtles are pitted against strange black-and-white doppelgangers of themselves that may or may not be from some other dimension. Or, maybe, something even more insidious is at play.
Batman/TMNT III hits shelves Wednesday, June 5, 2019!
Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2
(W) James TynionIV (A) Freddie Williams II (A/CA) Kevin Eastman
Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, joins series artist Freddie E. Williams II as guest artist for the second issue of BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III! Krang’s true power has been revealed, and now it’s up to Batman and the Turtles to stop him, but their only hope may lie with the strange, yet familiar, visitor from another world.
An Origin Retold in Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2 Preview
The worlds of Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are undergoing a crisis in Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, the third crossover comic between the caped crusader and the heroes in a half shell. For one thing, the continuities of the two universes have been merged, with Batman and the Turtles living together and sharing characteristics, with Turtles dressed like Robins and a Shredder/Joker mash-up.
And now, Batman and the Robin-Turtles have come face-to-face with someone claiming to be the original Raphael, in authentic black and white just like the original Eastman and Laird comics. And to prove he’s the real thing, he’s able to easily kick all five of their asses while simultaneously recounting his own origin story.
See it all in the preview of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2 below, and look for the issue in stores on Wednesday.

Once the initial meetings are out of the way, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo will be teaming up with Batman, Robin, and Batgirl.
