Nickelodeon's Jules Borkent to be Honored with TV Kids Pioneer Award

Jules Borkent, Managing Director (MD) and Executive Vice President (EVP) for international kids and family brands at Paramount Global, will be honored with the TV Kids Pioneer Award at the TV Kids Summer Festival, taking place from June 7 to 10.


Borkent joined Nickelodeon more than two decades ago and today is in charge of all aspects of content and business operations internationally, overseeing brand and content management and strategy, acquisitions, production development, creative and multiplatform.

The TV Kids Summer Festival will feature keynotes and panels with leading executives and creatives discussing the major trends in the children’s programming business. It will be streamed live and available on-demand on TVKidsSummerFestival.com. Unlike other events requiring hefty registration fees, attendance to the TV Kids Summer Festival is free. The inaugural festival attracted more than 1,700 participants.

Top Programmers Slated for TV Kids Summer Festival Session

Paramount’s Layla Lewis, POP Channels’ Francesca Newington, Sensical’s Bethany Boles and De Agostini Editore’s Brenda Maffuchi are taking part in a special session all about acquisition and programming strategies during the TV Kids Summer Festival, which you can register for here.

Lewis is senior VP of global acquisitions and content partnerships for Nickelodeon. Newington is director of POP Channels at Narrative Entertainment. Boles is head of programming at Sensical. Maffuchi is head of acquisitions and property development at De Agostini Editore. Together, the executives will weigh in on wish lists, rights negotiations and more.

These executives join the TV Kids Summer Festival roster alongside previously announced speakers Nickelodeon’s Jules Borkent, BBC’s Patricia Hidalgo, Super RTL’s Thorsten Braun, Warner Bros.’ Amy Friedman, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder’s Bruce W.
